Re: 2010 Redskins Final Cutdown
I think we may need a LB and WR. If we sign a WR another one goes off our roster.
With losing Henson, I think we need to get a solid ILB to go along with the current group. Blades cannot be trusted in the new scheme. He cannot even make a tackle anymore.

Re: 2010 Redskins Final Cutdown
Blades, Wilson, Westbrook, Alexander, and Riley will all be big on special teams coverage.

Re: 2010 Redskins Final Cutdown
Well, they will most likely go to the practice squad, and when we go to 18 games, and increase the roster, they will make the team!

Re: 2010 Redskins Final Cutdown
Offense:
QB (3): McNabb, Grossman, Beck RB (5): Portis, Johnson, Williams, Sellers, Young WR (6): Moss, Armstrong, Thomas, Galloway, Williams, Banks TE (2): Cooley, Davis OL (8): Trent Williams, Dockery, Rabach, Hicks, Brown, Lichtensteiger, Heyer, Will Montgomery That's 24 on offense. Room for one more. Will Montgomery is the lone Groundhog Day inclusion. Anthony Bryant the other real surprise on defense.

Re: 2010 Redskins Final Cutdown
Logan Paulsen is listed on Ryan O'Halloran's 53 man. I've seen him listed as a confirmed cut for many hours.
Redskins Set 53-Man Roster If we still have Paulsen, that's a full roster.

Rich_Campbell
So it does. Tryon (traded) is not on the list. nRT @JoeWebDesign: @Rich_Campbell If you read the article, it states Paulsen made the team 2 minutes ago via TweetDeck Wow, can getting to 53 be anymore complicated |

Logan Paulsen makes the team. Thanks Gtripp for pointing out the guys I missed.

Re: 2010 Redskins Final Cutdown
We did a poor job selecting offensive lineman. Period. We were a better team if you gave us a random ten-man OL from the 80 man roster than we are now. This team has Rabach, Hicks, and Will Montgomery on it. That's bad, and it's worse when you realize we cut people to get to that.
Lichtensteiger is going to be good for this team, but he can't start at both RG and C AND be the third TE. We have little behind Rabach/Hicks. I didn't think we needed to keep more than eight, necessarily, but I also didn't think our solution to having a log jam of interior OL prospects was to cut them all. I think we did well at wide receiver. We have a good balance between special teamers, speedsters, and route running technicians. We kept all the keeper WRs we had, possible exception to Terrence Austin, who probably isn't going too far if we need him. I like keeping Darryl Young a lot as the (season-)long term project at FB. And I think they did as well as they could have with the RBs. Torain is probably better than Johnson, but the contract they gave to Johnson backed them into a corner. Williams was a keeper. I think we might be a bit thin in the back seven, particularly in the secondary, but if we use Chris Horton to the best of his talents, we can get a package linebacker out of him, eliminating the need to keep more than eight. I don't know why Byron Westbrook has as many lives as he does. No idea. In conclusion, I think we butchered the offensive line, while doing well elsewhere. Or in other words, kind of like last year.

Re: 2010 Redskins Final Cutdown
At least there is the hope that bootlegs and the use of zone-blocking on pass plays can at least somwhat mitigate the awful we might experience should the starters go down.

Re: 2010 Redskins Final Cutdown
We have a decent roster. Wish Austin was kept, but Banks has that speed going for him. They need to have him run drills with wet footballs or something to correct his fumbling.

Re: 2010 Redskins Final Cutdown
Thanks for putting the cuts in neat summary lists, GTripp.
As for Westbrook, I've come to the conclusion that he has a very powerful guardian angel. There is no other explanation. Austin had better be on the PS. I think he was robbed by a geriatric who couldn't get on the field in the past and hardly lit it up in the preseason.

Re: 2010 Redskins Final Cutdown
I am not going to say this team is done and set at any position. Bruce and Mike will add a couple of guys here and there. They said as much on Redskins.com. Basically saying that they are watching the waiver wires and the final 53 is set as of now, but there is still a possiblity of adding more pieces.
As far as the Oline goes we did the best we could to turn over the mess that was here last year. We have 2 great tackles a good backup. Heyer as much as I wanted to write him off before preseason, proved to be a much improved player than that of last year. As for the the interior other than Kory L. I do not know much about them other than I really don't want to know much about them. ![]()
