3) Peyton Manning has plenty of money and he's already put out there that he's not asking to break the bank, rather an incentive based contract almost a play for pay type deal 2) Playing Eli twice a year is more of a reason not to play here Peyton's respect for Mike Shanahan imo is our only real incentive. Re: QB Apocalypse: The Seventh Sign
I want Peyton here but only if we get our first choice qb from the draft as well whoever that may be im hoping RG3. I think its worth the risk to get peyton bc of the reward he can bring but if it doesnt work out and he cant get healthy we need our 2nd option to be a good option, not Rexy or anything like him.

Re: QB Apocalypse: The Seventh Sign
We have to remember as much as us wanting to trade up these teams "Indy, St. Lou, & Minn" IMO want to trade down, everyone wants more picks especially High picks.

and honestly Indy will not want to trade down. They will not keep Manning for two reasons 1- they don't know if he'll get healthy. 2- they won't want to give up the 28mill if he's not healthy. So for that alone Indy will want to keep their draft pick and select a franchise QB. Beyond that all bets are off. With any of the rest I see more upside with RGIII then what they already have and they would be crazy to pass up on him considering none of their QB's have shown they are franchise material as of yet. |

Re: QB Apocalypse: The Seventh Sign
We have to remember that Houston and KS used to get their asses kicked by PM all the time. I don't think there should be a concern when it comes to the system or allowing Peyton to do his thing. There would be trust between the HC, OC, and QB that the right plays are being called in the right situation.

Re: QB Apocalypse: The Seventh Sign
It is interesting that certain journalists used to praise Kyle's system and offense in Houston, but as soon as he comes here -bam!- he sucks.

is worth a damn. We have seen glimpses of it here at times. He also had alot of talent to work with in Houston. Once we get that here it will all come together.

I'll say this... I think that there was a pretty good reason why Grossman wasn't starting for Houston when they both were there... right? I agree.. let's judge the Shanny's when we have an actual NFL Starter-Caliber QB in place.

Re: QB Apocalypse: The Seventh Sign
Journalists always look for stories that have instant recognition. Kyle had that quality and Houston was a legit offense under his tutelage. Thing is, Houston's offense is just as good and maybe better now (taking injuries to Johnson out of the equation, and too a lesser extent Schaub), so it's possible and even probable he wasn't the reason for the earlier success.

Getting Peyton is like buying a classic Ferrari. Getting RGIII is like buying a new Bentley.

Sorry I should have said Audi or some other performance car. Lotus RGIII is like a brand new Lotus.

Re: QB Apocalypse: The Seventh Sign
If you know Sally Jenkins then you know she hates almost any offseason move the Skins make atleast in free agency. Amazingly enough.... she endorses the P.Manning signing. lol.
You've got to be kidding. Sally Jenkins jumps on the Peyton Manning bandwagon. | February |
