Never seen Delta Force? Great 80s movie.

More like Chuck Norris in Delta Force. Although in the movie, Chuck Norris would probably beat Bin Laden to death instead of shooting him.

re: Bin Laden Killed

I like everyone else want to see the photo, but even more so I want to see the video of the raid, that to me would be even more telling. But after thinking about it since all this went down im pretty sure it would be a bad idea to release the photo or anything else within the next 5,10 maybe 20 years. Can anything positive come from releasing the photo, video of the raid, or video of the burial? Do you think Americans would be more safe or less safe if the photo is released, even if slightly? This is something the Obama administration has been thinking about for months now, while we’ve only had a couple days. They knew there was a high probability of bin laden living there since back in August of last year and pretty much knew he was there since February. They undoubtedly planned out how they would do his religious burial, and although im still pretty upset and if I were a Muslim I would be furious that they gave this nutbag a religious burial, I think it was probably the smartest thing to do to protect American’s safety.

What do you think. What positive will come from releasing a photo or anything else in the near future?

I really don't think it matters if they release the photo. I think we should have kept his head and every time some ask Obama for proof that Osama was dead he could pull his head out of a bag that he carries around.

I saw last night that the seal teams came from Va. Beach and I have several of them insure but not sure if it was their units. One of their trainers have a cottage at Nags Head just down from us and hangs out on the beach with us and I can't wait to ask him a few questions.

I don't see any upside to releasing the photo. Really. For those that say it will satisfy the conspiracy nuts, well, they won't believe it's bin Laden anyway. I think most rational people, here and elsewhere, know that bastard is dead.

The real downside of releasing the photo is that it continues to perpetuate the myth of bin Laden's warped and twisted legacy. So on one hand the administration didn't want a physical burial place for extremists to worship, but yet we give them a tangible photo to idolize and keep bin Laden alive, even if it's only in their minds.

I think the pressure is mounting and they will eventually release the photos, but I don't like the idea that we have to dignify and indulge our appetite for gore and gruesome images when we know full well he's at the bottom of the Arabian sea. **** bin Laden, he's dead. Let's move on.

Exactly my thoughts. Plus its like there's no real closure for his followers. They know hes dead. Theres no grave. Theres no photo or video of him dead. Theres questions on how he died. Theres just no closure for them.....

People are always going to doubt that he really died. A photo isnt gonna help. I honestly think it will hurt a little because it gives people something to pick at. Be like the SEALS, do your job, leave nothing, turn down any praise.

I just watched a Leon Panetta on PBS with Jim Lehrer and he asked if bin Laden had any last words for the SEALS...Panetta responded, quite frankly I don't think he had the opportunity. It all went down so fast once they located him.

Well said.

As much as I personally would like to see a photo, I'm not sure how much good would come out of publishing it for the world to see. I mean, I guess it would be an exclamation point at the end of a "don't f*ck with the USA" moment. But honestly, only conspiracy theorists and extremist muslim propagandists are preaching that he's still alive. Scores of anti-western muslim populations are marching in the streets because of his death. Pretty sure the vast majority of earth knows damn well we got that SOB.

re: Bin Laden Killed

The whole world knew what the U.S. goal was with respect to Osama. The people who follow him also knew this day was coming and I doubt a photo of him dead will sway their opinion of us in any direction. These people are plotting to kill Americans all the time and I highly doubt there will be an increase, just that their timetable might move up. Some worry about the causal/proxy Osama fan picking up arms...I don't see how these people would get motivated by his death but not his hundreds of call-to-arm videos.

The world needs to see the consequence of Osama's actions are. Release the photos and let the chips fall where they may.
