Re: The Official 2007 Draft Discussion Thread

Anyone think we should draft Mason Crasby with our next pick. He is the top kicker available. I think it would be a smart pick.

He's still available, and we could use a good kicker.

Re: The Official 2007 Draft Discussion Thread

terrible pick...could have got this guy in the 6th or 7th if we really wanted him. How do we pass up a TE like Ben Patrick right here, could have been a great combo with cooley. Even the kicker from Colorado would have been a better pick here. We should just start trading all of our late round picks for 1 3rd.

Suisham is the guy. I think he is the best kicker we've had in a long time.

That's not hard to do. We've had some HORRIBLE kickers. I am not convinced Suisham is the man.
That kid out of Colorado has an NFL leg, and could do better than the 4 TB's that Suisham had last year. At worst, draft him and use him as competition...if Suisham wins, then so be it.

Re: The Official 2007 Draft Discussion Thread

if its Dline i hope it is an end cuz we got 2 DTs last year about this time . . it looks like de got drafted harder than dt and og this year thoo . . .

i checked that profile for sartz, looks pretty good for a 5th . . . i laugh everytime they say "hes got a good bubble"

man mason crosby would have had a much bigger impact on this team than an olb . . . . kinda disappointed, another need not addressed when the best kicker is available in the 5th . . . but what do i know

Re: The Official 2007 Draft Discussion Thread

nfldraftcountdown.com dallas sartz

Strengths:
Has a good frame with long arms and could easily add some weight...Smart with great instincts...Reads and reacts quickly...Smooth and fluid in coverage...He has excellent range...A terrific motor...Still has upside...Great special teams potential.

Weaknesses:
Is undersized and needs to bulk up...He is not a great tackler...Must get stronger and be more physical...Speed is very average and he lacks a burst...Durability is a big concern...Struggles in space...He does not really like to engage with blockers.

Notes:
His father, Jeff, played safety at Oregon St...His grandfather, also named Dallas, was a Golden Gloves boxer at Washington State and a professional hydroplane racer...Could also project to safety in the pros...Missed the majority of the 2005 season with a dislocated shoulder...Nice player...A candidate for the strongside.

sounds like this is for special teams
