Re: 2013 Free Agents

Call me crazy but I'd bring LaRon back now that he's apparently healthy. He missed the team bus in Week 17 and had his snaps limited by the tattooed whale, so he's probably open to leaving New Jersey.

LaRon Landry - New York Jets - 2013 Player Profile - Rotoworld.com

Impending free agent SS LaRon Landry was limited to 35-of-58 snaps in the Jets' finale as punishment for missing the team bus.

It's notable because Landry had missed only 25 snaps all season coming into Week 17, and is a rare instance of a Jets player being held to account for his actions. Of course, it's not as meaningful for a player who will likely walk in free agency. Now 28, Landry expects to command lucrative, multi-year deals on the open market. Jan 9 - 3:27 PM

The thing with LaRon is that I'm pretty sure he and the coaches didn't like each other. (Atleast I read that somewhere on here)

Safety in Round 3 is great but a WR in round 5 and no offensive line until Round 6? Also, no CB is an issue unless we're going through FA.

I can understand a late WR pick because our guys did drop way balls this year.

CB is an issue because we have 1 incredibly overpaid CB who we presume will be cut because of no cap hit and another CB in the last year of his deal. Both are the only vets under contract and both are starters. Drafting one and acquiring in FA would be ideal.

The article has us taking CB David Amerson in the second round. How is that not taking a CB?

Re: 2013 Free Agents

This should be in the draft thread, not FA. And Amerson is a CB but some scouts have projected him to FS

Re: 2013 Free Agents

I feel that the first thing we need to do in FA is to re-sign our own Fred Davis and Rob Jackson.

After that, I'd like to see the Skins try to address FS, the pass rush, 3rd Down RB, and KR/PR.

I think the following players could help us:

1. Jarius Byrd, FS - He would provide a big upgrade as our starting FS.
2. Osi Umeniyora, DE - We could use him as a pass rushing specialist.
3. Josh Cribbs, KR/WR/RB - Explosive player. Instant upgrade to KR/PR. Also could use him as a backup WR or on 3rd down out of the backfield.

Cribbs is a bit intriguing. He can be an explosive player, but he'll be 30 once the season begins. Will he still have his explosiveness? Cribbs and Crawford would make a good KR/PR combination and he'd be good to have in the backfield on those weird pistol formations. At receiving, he'd be an upgrade to Banks, but I am wondering if we are crowding the WR position.

I would say no to Osi, although I am sure he'd play hard against the G-men. Byrd would be great, but he's going to be the #1 FA this offseason, if the Bills let him get away.
