Re: Where was the blitz???????????
I just think that some people are idiots and don't understand the game of football. Like I said in a previous post a week ago gibbs need an offensive coordinator His offense is to shitty with the way our defense comes to play each and every week. I though that he would open the playbook in this important but he didn't which was ridiculous. I love gibbs but an o-coordinator would just do wonders for our team to get back to the glory days.

Why don't we get a second and third wide reciever threat to help the offense first. We can get the greatest O coordinator in the world, that' great. But without someone to help take the pressure off Moss, it won't matter one bit. |

Re: Where was the blitz???????????
baloney!we let hassleback sit in the pocket time after time with no pressure on him and make play after play.in the first meeting we blitzed play after play and won the game.the few times we got pressure on him,he did dumb things and basically threw the ball up for grabs.we need a stud pass rusher to really make this d a monster

Re: Where was the blitz???????????
We didn't blitz becuase the WC offense is designed to kill blitzes. What you do--and it worked pretty well--is that you interupt the timing of the passing game, and you stuff the run. If we could have also ball controlled against them, we'd have won. It was a good game plan. We just didn't fully execute--and I attribute that much more to injuries and fatigue (THREE games in a row on the road!) then to anything else.

Re: Where was the blitz???????????
The solution is 2# and 3# wideouts. Make David Patten earn his spot.
The best free agents are Brandon Llyod, Antwaan Randle-El, Nate Wayne and Eric Moulds. Take your pick. Our best bet is Antwaan Randle-El. Good route runner and punt returner.

Re: Where was the blitz?
To get back to this thread's topic, I think Williams was not blitzing as much because he had a lot of respect for their offensive line and running game. I don't know why we didn't blitz as much as usual, but that would be my guess. In any event, our defense played well against a great offense playing at home that had been rested.

Wow, are we back in "piss on the legend" mode already? Good times.
