My buddy I grew up with and played ball with since we were kids is the player who ended his career. Bo was probably the greatest pure athlete we have ever seen in terms of physical ability! |

Re: Top 10 RBs of All Time
1. Sweetness
2. Barry Sanders 3. Jim Brown 4. Gayle Sayers 5. O.J. 6. Eric Dickerson 7. Emmit Smith 8. Marshall Faulk 9. Earl Campbell 10. John Riggins I had a hard time leaving out Marcus Allen, and I can't add Franco. He'd run backwards to the sideline over trying for a couple more yards and getting hit anyday.

Re: Top 10 RBs of All Time
It's funny to me that many of you don't have Emmitt Smith anywhere on your list, or not in the top 5 and he is the all time Rushing Yardage leader. I bet the same poll on a Cowboys site would have Emmitt number 1 on every list. Are we all that bias against the Cowboys? Just wondering.

He had like 2000 more carries than Jim Brown, yet passed him by like 3,000 yds. |

Re: Top 10 RBs of All Time
Not to hijack the rankings, but I was just watching highlights of Barry Sanders and Walter Payton on youtube.com, and I can never get over how freakin' amazing those two guys are. It's like they're just inhuman or from another world.
This is just my non-professional analysis, but comparing their runnings styles it's hard to say who's better from an athletic standpoint, but it seems to me lik Payton runs with sort of a reckless abandon kind of style. He's amazing, but just like he's so fast and strong and agile that he's just everywhere. Sanders on the other hand seems SO controlled - like every movement is a controlled, planned movement that he thought about and practiced for years. Regardless, they're both just incredible - if you're ever board, hit up youtube.com for some good classic RB entertainment. It sounds like I'm going gay, but watching Sanders' legs move just never gets old - that guy is from another planet or something.
