I have seen Urlacher play.....I remember a particular game fondly, because I was watching it with my friends and I was arguing with one of my buddies about who is better Ray Lewis or Urlacher. I was saying Lewis is better and Urlacher overated because he is white. A few plays later the argument died down and we are all suddenly watching closely (Buffalo Bills vs. Chicago Bears game two years ago). Suddenly we all see Bills OG Rueben Brown pick up off the ground and move Urlacher (by the shoulder pads) out of the way like he was a little kid. The friend I was arguing with, a huge Bears and Urlacher fan was embarrased, as the network kept showing the replay over and over again. I can tell you Lavar can make stupid mistakes and get blocked out of a play, but I have never seen an offensive lineman pick him up and move him ouf the way like this. Urlacher needs to put on about 10-15 pounds of muscle in order to be the best MLB in the league. |

O-VER-RATED -
RB Corey Dillon - Maybe its his additude that gets me, but he just doesnt seem to be as good as I think hes made out to be. QB Dante Culpepper- His best years are behind him, hes still a decent qb, but just about any NFL QB can go out and have a feild day with the recivers they got(or had) over there. Hell Gus Ferrotte tore the house down when he steped up this season. Under-rated. I honestly think Fred Smoot is underrated. Maybe its my bias, or him being behind Bailey, but I think this guy is a damn good player and should be considered a big CB. Not on like the " 100% shut down corner level", but a big time CB. We'll find out this year w/o Bailey here. Now I know I'm gonna get a TON of heat for this one, and this by no means affiliates me with this man or his team in any way shape or form. HOWEVER, I know hes not that good, but Quincy Carter takes WAYYYYYYY too much heat in Dallas. Is he the guy that can lead them to a superbowl, no , absolutley not. Is he a guy that will lead them past the Washington Redskins this year, no , absolutley not. However, is he a guy that goes out there and loses them games that they should have won, no, he doesnt. Thats just my opinion. Once again to reinterate, that statment dosent affiliate me with that man, his team, that state or any of the bordering areas of Dallas, TX. |

Underrated:
QB Tom Brady Despite winning 2 of the last 3 SB's, he still will not be listed as one of the best current QB's, because he does have a cannon arm and is not 6'-5" and 240 pounds. Carolina Panthers-despite making it to SB, they wil be over looked by most prognosticators. OVER-RATED: Indy Colts and KC Chiefs - The press, experts and fantasy footballers love offense and these two teams have great offenses. But their defenses are not very good. In the Colts case, they will actually be worse this year with the FA defections to their defense and not very good replacements. |

Underrated coach: Jack Del Rio
Overrated coach: Dennis Erickson, I suppose everybody deserves a second chance but I'm not sure how he got it...now I'll sit back and wait for SkinsnCanes to explain to me why Erickson is great because he coached Canes

The most over rated player in the league is Mike Vick by far. You would think he had a hand full of Super Bowl rings for all the hype he gets.
Runner up is Shockey, but he plays in NY and they overrate all their players. |

I think that Tomblinson isnt overrated or underrated, hes at minimum top three running backs in the league, if not first. The guy had 1800 yards rushing and 100 receptions. I think Deuce Staley has always been overrated. All he was ever good for was a screen pass. And for the time being im going to say that as a whole package Eli Manning was overrated as well. Im also going to hope that the broncos oline is overreates and that what is comes down to is that Portis is a beast and whatever back they have this year fails misserably. I think that Santana Moss has always been underrated, and when they finally gave him a chance he ripped it up. Hes short but can jump over anyone in the league, and can out run bascially everyone to. Hes going to be a baller next year. I also think that the Bucs defense is underrated for next year. They lost the heart and sole of that D but got Ian Gold and some others to step in. I think under Kiffin those young guys are goign to step it up.

Brady did a bit more than just ride the Pats D, I don't see the Dilfer comparison with him at all.

IMO Brady is an average QB on a team with a good D. As far as him doing more than just riding the Pats D, I don't see it. He is a QB that does not improvise and seldom tries to make something out of nothing on some plays, IMO until he takes risks and tries to be a play maker then he will be bumped up to the next level.
That is what seperates the great QB's from the average QB, being able to take a shot and be confident enough in your own abilities to believe that you can make or take that long shot everytime. |
