Re: Player Hating

Very true, expectations or not, it's not like one single player is going to make any team more "tired" than they were last year. We all played each other as tough as possible last year and I expect the same this year. Sure, the records might not reflect it, but a team's respective record won't reflect fatigue, it's just going to reflect talent. If we make it to the playoffs again, I don't expect us to be any more "beat up" than last year.

Re: Player Hating

you hit every nail on the head with that one Matty. i was on the edge of my seat all last season looking at Springs. he really is the linchpin of the defense, because it allows all the Williams wizardry to happen. Archuleta and Taylor can close, but they aren't the best cover guys. that receiver needs to be covered by somebody when Williams sends people on blitzes.

of course, Brunell is the other rickety linchpin.

the two most important positions on the team are weathered vets at the end of their careers, and their backups are both 2nd year players! (i dont think anyone wants to see Collins).

we can't take anything for granted this year, last season was a good one because these two stuck it out. can't rely on that this season, its gonna be a real tight year.

Re: Player Hating

Unlike most other teams I think the skins have their season hopes hanging by a thread if injuries happen. Matty was the only brave enough to speak out of what we all may fear. Age and past injuries are all linked to critical positions to hold us together but besides all that I don't think any NFC east team has the heart the skins do so I'm still a believer we will take it a step further. Which is why I worked out last week in case the Skins need a go to guy. Yo Snyder.. call me.

Any team in this league would be hurt by injuries. I can't think of one team that could lose a key guy and be ok. It is the nature of the league.

Re: Player Hating

i think 12th hit it right on the head. coach gibbs, and the rest of our coaching staff really hold the key. barring any MAJOR injuries, some of the vets should be able to get some rest during the work weeks making sure they are ready come sunday. coach has had veteran clubs before and knows how to handle them

Re: Player Hating

Good afternoon dmek.

I've been making an effort to not post pleasantries without making a decent post, but damn it this time.
