Re: Lavar will not play in pre-season opener

I heard he was having "check-ups" in the offseason that were really mini-surgeries.

His knee is still bothering him, what a surprise. Funny how he says the Giants training staff is handling things the right way.

2 years of ongoing knee problems... perhaps the Skins were right after all?

That's the pay-off for having great upper body strength. Your knees will pay the price from the constant load/stress that it is put under. He'll have to redistribute his weight to his lower half and become a punter now.

Since you like him, I have a lot of Arrington's rookie cards and high end cards and stuff if youre interested ill gladly let them go at a reasonable offer. If im correct he basically badmouthed Gibbs. if so then F*** him. i could be wrong but i think i recall that being thrown around there anyone who badmouths Coach Gibbs I will get rid of their crap.

No way Gibbs and Williams let him go if he's healthy. I have learned not to doubt Joe.

Raise your hand if you'll feel vindicated if he turns out like Mike Barrow?

*hand raised*

That's just our payback for the Barrow situation to the Giants.

You see Lavar getting on the field this year? If so, will he be effective?

No way Lavar plays in 16 games this year. He may not see 8 games. Damaged goods. Let's see...... the Skins play the Giants in Week 5, he will probably be hurt and not on the field. By the last game of the season he will be on Injured Reserve and watching the Skins from the sidelines whip up on the Giants in route to the NFC East Division title.

Raise your hand if you're surprised.

Yeah, that's what I thought!

Re: Lavar will not play in pre-season opener

Seems like they are a little worried about LaVar's knee on the Giants message board:

************************************************** *******

According to Tom Coughlin, the Giants' trainers are "in the process of developing a way in which we can manage this thing with him." He remained hopeful that Arrington would return to practice "under those guidelines" next week. But he also sounded like there's a possibility Arrington's knee problems will be a season-long thing.

************************************************** ***********************************

If it's like Washington, Lavar will start complaining when he isn't starting even though he isn't practicing at all. I hate to say it, but we seem to be headed there.

I USED TO be a 'real' Lavar fan, until he started running his damn mouth. I couldn't be happier he is out of Washington; he really wasn't worth the trouble.

When he starts acting a jerk in NY, you'll want him gone too. That is if he ever sees the field. Warrick Holdman beat him out for the starting role for most of last season.

Re: Lavar will not play in pre-season opener

Alright, guys I have a bold statement to say about LA. He has been injured alot over the past few years. Now does anybody remember back when the Balco steriod case was exposed in San Francisco? I somewhat remmember that there was a brief story on ESPN that implicated LA among other footbal players to have been involved. At the time I did not want to believe the story (and for some reason it was squashed focusing more on baseball then football) but now that he isn't a Redskin, he has been hurt a good bit since Balco/Victor Cante went down, and if you haven't noticed LA has not had the physical physique that he used to I pose the question to guys out there on the WARPATH. Do you think he might have been involved?

HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!!!!

Re: Lavar will not play in pre-season opener

the plot thickens

That's an interesting thought. Steriods help you rebound from injuries faster, but they also increase the chances because you get too big for your body, so to speak. Now that I think about it I wouldn't be that suprised if this were the case.
