This season? Agony and emotional abuse of the worst kind.

Lots of great memories and more great memories still to come. Sundays growing up was more than just gameday. It was an event. Family and friends gathered round to root for an entire organization.

Without what Gibbs did for this team in the 1980s I don't know that I become that big a fan. I don't know that Matty does either. Without Gibbs is there a TheWarpath.net?

Nope! Gibbs is the #1 reason I became a Redskins fan! Of course coaching guys like an Art Monk or a Darrell Green certainly helped as well.

That very same grandpa that passed his redskins love down to me is getting quite old. I talked to him today after the game, and he said, "they better get it together, I keep saying next year, but I don't even know if there will be a next year for me." It was depressing, and it made me think about what this team means to some people.
I still have two seat cushions from the Atlanta playoff win

Re: What the Redskins Mean to You

The redskins mean the world to me. Seriously, when the Redskins lose, my mood sucks for most of the week until i get over it. I'm sick and tired of losing all the time, ever since i've been a fan we've had one winning season and that was last year. I started believing this team could actually make a serious playoff run this year but once again free agency bites us in the ass. When the Redskins win i am ecstatic, it's seriously what i live for. My dad was the one who got me interested in the redskins, but nowadays all he does is chide me for believing we have a chance, and he watches fargin nascar 24/7 now. i just wish we could be consistent from season to season. I'm tired of all this mediocrity.

The Redskins have changed......certainly not for the better. Gibbs coming back gave me a false hope that we'd have our Camelot again.

There was a team pride that I don't think people have any more. It's all about the $$$ now.
If you do not care for the NFL then do not watch NFL football games. Yes the game has changed in many ways. If you do not like it then do not watch it. WTF does modern society compared to the '70's society have one thing to do with modern pro football? The Redskins have changed in what ways? Gibbs, Camelot, WTF? Are you from England. I think you meant Canton. "There was a team pride...." WTF? I wear my burgundy and gold in june and july. Where is yours? Is it sitting in the closet until august? Oh and yeah, $ makes the world go 'round. I'd bet you were not ripping us when Danny purchased(the greatest group in the world) the Washington Redskins for about $700 million.

p.s. Portis was earning the league min. when we traded for him.

Re: What the Redskins Mean to You

Its almost sad how I react to loses anymore. It used to crush me. I remember crying on occasion when I was 7 or 8, and it ruined my week when they lost up until a few years ago. Its just not worth it to get so worked up over games anymore. I love the skins, but with so much responsibility, I've got better things to do than let a loss eat me up inside.

Re: What the Redskins Mean to You

i usually think redskinrat is trying to stir up the following, but i think i know where he is coming from. the skins teams that i know and loved were one big family, and everyone cared about winning, period. now, sometimes it seems like some of the players do not have winning on the top of their agendas. it really is all about the money

Re: What the Redskins Mean to You

I'll give you one example of a situation where I think $'s mattered before the snap, but not during the play. Whistle to whistle. Sean Taylor has torched, floored, laughed at, and cursed.....T.O.
Taylor and T.O.'s loathing of one another has hardly begun. I do not agree that it is all about the $ for every single one of them. Remember Pat Tillman?

Re: What the Redskins Mean to You

redskins mean the world to me,have going on 35 years.when i was little, watching the redskins got me into a better relationship with my daddy.the last redskins game we saw before he died in october 1987 was the redskin strike team beat the cowboys strike team in which dann and randy white, tony dorsett and a few others had crossed the pickett line to play with, and they beat them in dallas.tony robinson was the redskins qb and they smoked the cowboys that night.i love the redskins always will, that's why i hate to see them play so bad year after year!
