Re: Jason Campbell..What's his time table?

Hopefully we are looking at the Redskins QB for the next 10 years. He's shown the most promise, poise and talent at the position than any young Redskins QB in my time as a fan. Ideal case would be a 3-1 finish with a positive QB-INT ratio. Going into next year he needs to become a playmaker rather than the caretaker we had for most of the season in Brunell. If he becomes a playoff QB next season it will be a major accomplishment.

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

He is going to need a full off season and a full season next year. Judge him after the end of next year.

Gibbs didn't give up multiple picks in a draft to take Ramsey, and I really doubt Gibbs ever told Ramsey he was committed to building the team around him.

If memory serves Gibbs stated many times "Patrick is our guy" even though he wasnt. I'm not comparing PR to JC I'm just saying you gotta take what Gibbs says with a big grain of salt.

They are completely different situations and circumstances.

I'm not comparing situations, I'm talking about what Gibbs says and what he does. Often they are very different things.

As for Gibbs endorsing PR, did he or did he not say "Patrick is our guy"?

He said what he had to at that time with Ramsey. He was their guy at that time, however briefly that turned out to be.

Now he's committed to building around Campbell, that sounds like a much stronger endorsement than he's our guy.

Matty is right. If you get a chance to read the article in the WP today you really get the feeling that Campbell is here to stay with Gibbs's full support behind him.

Re: Jason Campbell..What's his time table?

Well after this first 1/2 today his time table just got alot longer. He REALLY looked like a rookie.

He did have a bad first half, but I like the way he bounced back and played well in the second half. Give some props to the O-line, too. Protection was pretty decent today.

Re: Jason Campbell..What's his time table?

I'd say his timetable is by the end of next year. I think we gave Patrick 3 years, Rivers is great after 3, Lil Manning is good after 3, Smith is pretty good after 2, Palmer was great after 3, Rothlessberger was good after 1, Leinart/Young look at least decent after 1, and Cutler looks IMO better than Campbell after 1.

I would say the only one that has played consistent this year is Rivers. Cutler looks sooooooo lost right now. But Young looks almost scary.

How can anybody in their right mind be arguing about Patrick Ramsey now? Oh, wait, I answered my own question.
