Re: Bears interested in Archy
I agree with that. It might be the best of many bad options. I'd like to keep him but what the hell do you do with a safety who has no cover skills? You can't blitz him every down. You can't make him a LB. We have to cut our losses.

Re: Bears interested in Archy
If the Bears truely want him, they'd be wise to give us some compensation. If they trade for him, they get him under his current deal with 6 years remaining and are liable for no part of his signing bonus (which we would take the remaining 6/7 of as dead cap). If he sucks there, the dead cap penalty for cutting him would be a whopping 0 for the Bears.

I don't think that would be wise at all. First, if the Redskins get rid of him they will flat drop him. Second, why the hell would anyone want to touch that contract with a 10 foot pole? After the Redskins drop him, they can sign him in the neighborhood of the league minimum. Around the league, he is viewed as an injured "never was". |

There's a ham sandwich somewhere with Archuleta's name on it and it's headed the Redskins' way.

Re: Bears interested in Archuleta
You might have to accept Richfood because Kraft comes a bit pricey. Maybe a coupon for some Kraft but an ACTUAL slice..... you might be asking for alot there bro

Re: Bears interested in Archuleta
If we could get a 4th or 5th rounder for Arch, I would be loving life.

Re: Bears interested in Archuleta
Of course as the Redskins, if the Bears aren't willing to give at least a 4th, I'd hold onto him, saving the cap space.

Re: Bears interested in Archuleta
Archuleta isnt going anywhere. We are strapped for our salary cap, and our front office is too conservative to trade someone, let alone release them, after one and a huge contract. The only way he leaves is if someone comes after him iwth as much zeal as we did during free agency, and after his first season with us, that is higly unlikely.
We are stuck with him. Just gotta MAKE it work. Maybe he can play LB? hahaha, it works on madden, so fcuk it!
