Re: How do you think we size up against the FINS week 1, with Trent at QB
I see Saunders being able to point out every tendency Trent Green has to Greg Williams before the game. Green will be a little shaky in the new offense and will rely on his instincts. This gives us an advantage. Saunders offense will have changed enough over two years that Green won't be able to tell the Fins much about what to expect. That is a big advantage for us. With that said, the Fins defense is stout and I don't expect them to give up 30 points. I expect that we can put up 20+ points and hold them under 17.

This is true, but our defense is vastly fragile right now and we dont know how well Fletcher, Landry, and the rest will mesh together. I am excited to see but I am also worried. Will Shawn Springs be 100% throughtout the season like in 2004 when he lead the team in interceptions and sacks. Or will he be the 2006 Shawn Springs who couldn't sat healthy and who couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat. We don't know what we are getting right now. We are hoping for the best but hoping will only get you so far if you know what I mean. So we will basically have to wait and see how well we stack up. If after four quarters we are leading the Dolphins then we stack up well. On the other hand, if we are losing after four quarters then we don't. And remember the Redskins always seem to lose games they are supposed to win like the Titans game last year. And since the year 2000 no other team has had more losses by 6 or fewer points than our Washington Redskins. So it has to be a wait and see game. We could be suprised or we could be dissapointed. Either way I think I speak for eveyone here when I say that we are excited to say the least.

Depending on injuries up to that point, the game could go either way IMO. I wouldn't be surprised if we lost that game considering that we will have some new faces on the field for the first time in a real game situation. Who knows how Wade will hold up at the guard spot and JC may have some jitters cuz it'll be his first NFL season opener. Will our revamped secondary and linebacking corps have gelled together by then? Doubtful. Still Miami isn't the strongest of opponents so thats why i say its a toss-up.

As of June 9th of the pre- pre season, I truely believe the skins will win this opening game. If jason misfires as it were we can still rely on our great backfield tandem. JC is a winner and if AL'S vaunted offense comes to fruition like past stats prove, we'll be in good shape . As far as "d" is concerned the league dosen't know whats gonna hit'em in the mouth if we can stay healthy 23-17 skinz in not that close a game...

I am still skeptical because I was expecting a rout of Minesota and Dallas in the first 2 opening games and I was let down. So I don't know.

We win 14-7. Miami scores it's only touchdown against us on a botched field goal attempt when Suisham tries to make something happen after a bad snap and ends up throwing an INT. that gets returned for a touchdown.

Re: How do you think we size up against the FINS week 1, with Trent at QB
Skin's D vs. Dolphin's O
To me, these are the two weakest parts for each team. The D has something to prove, as they were awful last season. With the addition of Fletch and possibly Landry starting on opening day, a lot is left to the imagination. The D could come out with a huge chip on its shoulder, or could very easily fall flat on its face. The Dolphins O is definately going to be shaky if Trent is going to be their opening day starter. He ha a lot to learn about this new offense and little time to do it in. Veteran or not, this is going to be a difficult task for him. He will have to rely on Ronnie Brown, and possibly Ricky "I Stay High" Williams. I think in the end, the D is going to harass TG, and in the back of Trent's mind is going to be the hit he took last season. I think The Skin's D shuts them down. Skin's O vs. Dolphin's D These are much stronger portions of each offense. The Skins O began to gel coming down to the end of the season, with a rook QB and without CP. With JC vastly improving, CP and Ladell being healthy, and a better rapport with each of the receivers, this is going to be a dangerous unit. However, don't doubt the Dolphin's D. The unit may be aging, but they are still quite good. Look for them to try and rattle JC early with exotic blitzes. You can't predict which unit is going to outshine the other, so I'm going to call this one a stalemate. Special Teams. To be honest, the only person I remember off the Dolphin's ST, was Wes Welker, and he's gone, so I'm going to assume that the play of the Dolphin's ST has declined. I don't think the Skin's ST has. That is clearly one of Gibbs' pride and joy, and we've only added players to what was a highlight unit last season. I may be biased, but I believe that the Skins win this matchup. My logic and beliefs may very well be flawed, but I think the Redskins should come out victorious. My score Skins: 34 Dolphins: 20 |

Not a bad anaylsis. However, there RB tandem will be Brown & Chatman. There is a slim to none chance of dope head Ricky Williams ever wearing a Fins uniform again, I think slim just left town. Here is a recent interview with Cam on the status of suspended Ricky W. Dolphins' Cameron not expecting Ricky Williams to return - USATODAY.com

JC's continued development is so crucial; I see him as the key to the Skins success this season starting with the game against the Dolphins.

Re: How do you think we size up against the FINS week 1, with Trent at QB
I think we're underestimating Miami's defense a little bit. Definitely a challenge for a young QB and Cam Camron may be able to turn their O around. I consider the Dolphins and Redskins in the same boat. Tons of talent that just hasn't gotten it together yet. Their biggest problem is their Oline, or lack there of.
The first game of the season is always very tough to call, as are the next two. Hard to tell which teams look better and who looks worse.

There real RB's are Jesse Chatman & Ronnie Brown. Lorenzo Booker has never played a down in the NFL...?

He's probably still better than Jesse Chatman. Booker will be good.
