Re: Loss of a Fan and a Father
I too have a Father that never used to freak out on the Redskins until after the end of Joe's first stint as coach. Somewhere NFL Sunday ticket came into the picture and I think this is what caused the problem.
When I was younger in Iowa we would be lucky to catch any Redskins games. Mostly we got the ones on Monday Night Football and that was it. So enter Sunday ticket and the former Cowboy Norv. For a long while there my Dad was convinced that this was a Benedict Arnold type situation. Eventually my Mom would not watch the games with us, and I toughed it out. Fast forward to present day. My dad still watches and has calmed down a little bit. I now have NFL Sunday ticket myself for the first time. I know from the few games I have watched the past few season that I am developing this wild side to the games. I am glad to hear that other people were practically afraid of their Dad's on Game day, only to rejoin when screams of anger, returned to screams of joy. I am sorry for your guys loss, and will be thinking of you on opening day.

As sons, we sometimes forget just how much of our father is in us. My condolences and best wishes go out to you.

Re: Loss of a Fan and a Father
Condolences. And great post. I know that sounds strange to say great post in this situation, but the things you said about him in this opening post, Southpaw, really made me feel like I now know a small part of him.
Nice tribute, your father will clearly live on through the two of you. He seems like he was a stand up guy, and he clearly passed that on to his two sons.
