bosch sucks, but he's not 33 and making 4mill a year. not everything is just play on the field. price/performance is pretty important too. but bosch still sucks. |

Re: Draft Class of 2007 Very Poor
We cut those guys because we have depth at LB and (yes, believe it or not) at QB. Plus, Startz is hurt and Palmer will be on the practice squad.
Not a bad draft, IMO.

We had 2 guys from our entire draft make the team, Id call it a bad draft, especially after our front office had no picks rounds 2-4. |

Re: Draft Class of 2007 Very Poor
Daseal and I were talking on IM about the draft this morning and we cannot understand why people bitch and moan about draft picks not working out. Just as was mentioned above, no one shoots 100% in the draft and if you even have a 25% success rate in the later rounds, you should consider that a success.
Even the smarter of GMs and coaches can't find the starting talent in the sixth or seventh rounds.

Re: Draft Class of 2007 Very Poor
we had a good draft as long as landry shows up. blades and heyer are extra. UDFAs count as part of the draft class in my eyes, cause someone had to go out and find them.

Re: Draft Class of 2007 Very Poor
Well, if we say it was a good draft/FA class then the whole "we need a GM" and "Our FO stinks" arguments lose some of their weight - and we can't let that happen now can we??
The FO makes lots of mistakes but sometimes it gets things right. A star safety, a solid LB and a young LT with potential to start down the road. Damn fine group. Add to all that, Wilson and Mason for depth - and 2007 looks pretty nice for adding young players. Considering some had doomed us before the draft, I think they did fine - not brilliant, not completely stupid either.

Re: Draft Class of 2007 Very Poor
So where are all those people that said Sartz should be starting this year and Palmer could be our #2?

Re: Draft Class of 2007 Very Poor
every year people seem to get caught up with crappy players... ie: start hasslebeck (tim not matt), espy should start, mccullough is a star running back (who?) etc etc.... there didn't seem to be much of that this year though, which is really nice.
of course, i've been out most of this offseason with various crap ![]() |

Re: Draft Class of 2007 Very Poor
I still think Espy has a future with the team. I'd love to see what he can do if he started a few games.
