Well if there are that would explain quite a bit of the "miracles" and other stuff that happens. This is because the universe is very old, and relatively speaking the age of the Earth and life on it is quite young. Therefore there is a good change alien life and technology is much more advanced than us. Things that we regard as acts of God could be technology we cannot understand.
