Re: Rex Ryan 3-4 defense

look no further than the new york jets to see a defense being forced into a 3-4. its a tough transistion. its likely the main reason jonathan vilma wants out of new york.

i do not believe we have any ideal players in our front 7 for this sheme. especially at tackle. all the successful 3-4 defenses have a big, 400 lb monster to play the nose. the outside linebackers must be agile pass rushes. and the inside guys must be run stoppers who can excell in coverage.

fletch (inside) and maybe rocky (outside) could make the switch. but how long til rocky's healthy? nobody knows for sure.

we had the 4th overall defense this year and now we're gonna overhaul it? i don't see it. and if we do... god help us.

That's all I'm sayin'
Are you suggesting that there are coaches out there that are capable of ....adapting their schemes to the personnel they have been given? I ridicule your ridiculousness. Everyone knows good coaches pound square pegs in round holes and are quite successful in doing so.

Big C: Sorry, I was in a rush and didn't say what I meant to there. Basically what I was saying is are you going to sit him down? That's a lot of money to be sitting on your bench. I just don't think from a salary cap perspective it's feasible.

where would he play? i dont know what we would do with him. if he could bulk up he could play DE but i dont think he is fast enough for LB as he failed there in SF

Probably not. Not unless we hire him as HC.

Re: Rex Ryan 3-4 defense

I don't see why everyone thinks that Rex Ryan runs a 3-4. I mean the Ryans are known for the 46 defense. Hell Rex Ryan Co-wrote a book on the 46 defense with a picture of the Ravens playing D on the cover.
