Good point DGreene and Slingin. But if he falls low enough, he be might worth the risk right?

Re: The Official draft Marcus Monk thread.
sounds more like a free agent option, then a draft option. as much as it hurts me to say it, just say no to monk

Re: The Official draft Marcus Monk thread.
It's not that he isn't worth the risk. We just have more pressing needs than WR and we could probably find better value at LB or OL late.

Re: The Official draft Marcus Monk thread.
Mix is 10 lbs bigger, faster, stronger, and has a relationship with our starting QB.
Here's a solid G/C that may slip to the 6th or 7th round. Some folks have him dropping because of Senior Bowl practice and scrimmage struggles against superior physical talent. He would provide solid OL depth, smart, tough. Under Bugel and in an NFL strength program he would probably put on 10-15 lbs of muscle and with better technique be able to stand up against the 330lb DTs. Kory Lichtensteiger - Bowling Green. Re: The Official draft Marcus Monk thread.
monk is probably a 7th rounder and a special teamer. that's decent value over a guy that probably won't make the team at all.

4.57 is good speed. Not great, but good. He has very good hands, I've watched him. Kinda funny that ESPN has him at 6'6" but the combine has him at 6'4" and change. A guy that is just about 6'5" and has good hands as well as decent speed (still building speed up after the knee injury) is a steal for someone.

Re: The Official draft Marcus Monk thread.
We keep talking about Mix, but he didn't even do anything for the Giants, nor did he make the field for us when we had all sorts of WR issues.
I love Mix too, but we could easily use a guy like Monk especially considering we are likely losing Caldwell and McCardell. I think this kid is something special, and we could have him for pretty cheap.

Re: The Official draft Marcus Monk thread.
I think Mix has mad potential, but I just don't know how he can be considered a legit #2 receiver when he never played one down on offense.

The only way i can see him on the team is with a Free Agent invite.
Dude was hurt last year, he's got good size though but the injury is a big concern |

Re: The Official draft Marcus Monk thread.
Hopefully we don't waste an early draft pick on a reciever and look for one of these guys in the 3rd round or later *Warning i don't buy into the 'big' reciever crap, speed is much better than size, Moss and T.O. and Fitz are the exceptional combo of size and speed*
