Re: OT: NFL Network: Top 10 College Coaching Flops
If I had to guess, I'd say Petrino is first, followed by Spurrier, and then Nick Saban. Butch Davis is probably top five, Erickson is probably top seven, and the other guys I think i'm too young to know about considering I don't know who they are. I'm putting Petrino first because the man was such a colossal failure that he left 13 games into his first season as the coach, I think he's the first college coach to do something like that. All the other coaches at least stayed on a full season.

Pete Carroll has to be mentioned here too. If not for his failure in NFL coaching then for his contrasting success when he left the NFL for USC. I think this means that he just doesn't get the pro game at all.

I'd give the top spot to Saban just because of how much of an a-hole he is.

Our man Spurrier was number 3. Oh, and that coach out of Dallas didn't even place. Not Johnson, the other one.

Re: OT: NFL Network: Top 10 College Coaching Flops
I might if I get a chance to see it but I bet that with Spurrier they showed a lot of Ramsey getting sacked. Maybe a quote from Wilbon saying something like "He didn't protect the QB and he didn't run the ball."

Re: OT: NFL Network: Top 10 College Coaching Flops
I looked, and couldn't find the list on the net. I know that Spurrier came in 3rd, or 4th on the list. I caught part of it while mindlessly filpping through channels. It comes on today (Apr 16th) at 5:30 again. I'll try to catch it and post the list, if nobody finds it.

Re: OT: NFL Network: Top 10 College Coaching Flops
Okay I saw it last night before I dosed off. I'll edit this post later to compile a list but lets see. I remember Spurrier was definately 3. There were two Patriot coaches. One being Pete Carroll and the other being some guy who used to coach at Syracuse. Lou Holtz was #2. Most of the coaches were criticized for being to ra ra. One of the reporters wanted to fight Nick Saban. Another from Houston looked like an idiot. And the rest were fine.
This list is loosely based on what I remember, but the top 3 are 100% correct. 10. 9. Pete Caroll - Jets/Patriots 8. Dick MacPherson - Patriots 7. Nick Saban - Dolphins 6. Dennis Ericson - Seahawks/49ers 5. Bill Peterson - Oilers 4. Bud Wilkonson - Cardinals 3. Steve Spurrier - Redskins 2. Lou Holtz - Jets 1. Bobby Petrino - Falcons I personally thought Bill Peterson was the most interesting one (Bill Peterson - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia "He is also known as the "Coach of Coaches", having tutored such coaches as Joe Gibbs, Bill Parcells, Bobby Bowden, Don James, Dan Henning, Ken Meyer")

Re: OT: NFL Network: Top 10 College Coaching Flops
I saw the title on my DirecTV guide and it looks like they changed the title of this to "Top Ten Coaches Who Belonged in College"
I thought it was "Top Ten Coaching Flops" when they promo'ed it. Maybe someone caught feelings and asked for them to use a euphemism.
