This is the first time in as long as I can remember that I didn't with 99% certainty know who the first pick of the Redskins was going to be the night before the draft. There are soooo many possibilities, it's driving me crazy. I wish the draft was at Noon

Re: final prediction for #21
I don't understand why Merling is the popular choice. Some draft boards have him falling to the bottom of the 1st round because of his injury/risk-factor. On the other hand, our needs on the o-line are at least (more IMO) pressing than d-line, Cherilus looks like he will prolly be available at 21 but nobody here wants him. Is this kid considered a dud? I think every board has Pitt taking him at 23. Is that because he has a connection to the coaching staff or is expected to fit their system better? Anyone?

And secondly, I see boards that don't have us taking an o-lineman in the first or second round. Does this seem plausible to any of you guys?

In a great twist of events .. we trade our 21st pick and another early round pick next year for Boldin, i'm out here in AZ and he def wants out ... god help us if we end up with ocho cinco, BOLDIN is the real deal and worth all the marbles we got

Re: final prediction for #21
Does to me. We don't need one superstud, we need multiple solid linemen. So in the third round you could draft McGlynn and Schuening which would be great.

Re: final prediction for #21
P.Merling de would be fine or a cb like Talib or Jenkins .And in the 2nd round either a de , cb or olinemen .Possibly L.Jackson de ,T.porter cb or C.Rachel og .Then in the 3rd round a wr and either a lb or safety .

Re: final prediction for #21
I would say a trade down after Matt Ryan drops like Brady Quinn last year.

I'm still trippin' off the fact that our pick happened to fall at '21'...Sean Taylor is definitely watchin' this team...Hopefully we will turn that pick into something that will really help out the defense..I will probably cry tears of joy if whoever we pick plays with Taylor's passion.

Re: final prediction for #21
I predict a trade with Baltimore for this year's second and next year's first, similar to what Cleveland gave up to get Brady Quinn last year.
If they stand pat I think Merling is a good guess, unless one of the five top Oline prospects remains. |

Re: final prediction for #21
i'm really hoping someone falls.
it looks like we might be stuck with kelly or sweed, due to good players being gone... if that's the case i'll be pretty pissed, cause neither one of those guys looks very good to me. I mean, if they fell to the 2nd, maybe, but i really just don't like them. honestly, merling doesn't really do much for me either, but at least he's a safer pick at a position of great need that looks like a real/legit nfl starter with some upside... he'll never be the sack magnet though. |

Re: final prediction for #21
Boldin is a beast, and a durable reciever, but I would like us to pick up a tall WR to increase our goaline options. How many times have you seen our famous "bootleg to Cooley" screen pass.
