He's going to be listed as LB/DE.

Re: How much will Taylor pay Andre Carter for #99?

Being an old school fan from the early Seventies on, it will be good to see #55 on another impact player. Not up on all of the Redskins who have worn #55 but in the Seventies my favorite defensive player was Chris Hanburger, 9 time Pro Bowler and voted one of the 70 best Redskins of all time.
Looking forward to the Jason Taylor years.

I think the Rookie Rob Jackson DE should give the number up to the old man. It would be nice to have two book Ends....98/\99. Kinda like our new WR 11/\12.

#55 is number requested by Taylor. Evidently his wife suggested the change from 99 and Taylor likes double numbers. He was limited in choice do to position requirements. Rian Wallace gave up the number for Taylor and took
the #57.

Still find in interesting that Taylor and Zach Thomas will have same number.

I would have made him give me dancing lessons for the number.

Regardless of what number he ends up with, I'm excited that he's with the Skins. Let's hope it works out for the best. Check out this interview with him on comcastsportsnet.com. There's a bunch of other interesting interviews as well.

Does anyone know where I could get a replithentic, or authentic #55 Taylor jersey? (I am not a fan of replica's...don't like the screened on numbers).

My guess is shortly you will see the authentic or replithentic in Redskin stores or online.
Contact a Redskins store and see if they know.

I like that he is going with a new number, it would be weird to see Carter wearing something else, but I would have liked to see the two ends wearing 98 and 99... My favorite part of the interview yesterday was when he said "no more dancing, unless its celebrating big plays!" I also loved how Clinton said he was going to learn some new dance moves from JT for all the end zone celebrations. HAIL THE Z Shades!

It wouldn't have been smart for Taylor to buy his number. Why spend all that money, for what, 1 maybe 2 years of wearing it?

\Players are very superstitious about that kind of stuff, and the kind of money JT has throught football, plus the money he is going to have when he goes to hollywood will be nothing to a rich legend like him.

Side note: I would really like to know why Sean Taylor switched numbers.olle

What switch are you referring to? He came in with 36, because Smoot had 21. Then, he switched back to 21 when Smoot left. Then, Smoot came back and his number was gone, lol. Now, I'll be surprised if any Redskin wears 21 again.

Re: How much will Taylor pay Andre Carter for #99?

But why did Taylor want 21???? He wore 26 in college, i just want to know why he wanted 21 in the first place. And I am pretty sure no one is ever going to wear the number again either, and I am still suprised they haven't announced that the team is going to retire his number.

They don't retire numbers. The equipment manager simply doesn't give out some of them like 81,28, etc...
