That's very surprising but in today's NFL does it really shock anyone? If Shanahan can get fired then no one is safe. I think the loss to Oakland sealed his fate. I really don't like Gruden's version of the west coast offense so I hope he doesn't come here. Too much dinking and dunking and god knows we already do enough of that here.

Hey, Joey Galloway and Antonio Bryant have caught more deep balls for the Bucs the past few years than anyone has for the Redskins.

Gruden for OC! Just kidding. Kind of.

Gruden for OC sounds really good to me.

WOW I didn't see that or Shanahan, and I sure expected Wade Phillips gone. (and kinda Norv too.) Gruden seemed like a solid coach, the Rams should try and get him.

I never thought Gruden was all that impressive as a coach. The only thing he did was lead a team built by Dungy to the superbowl, since then he hasn't done much of anything.

Since that SB run TB hasn't even won a playoff game.

Wow, now this is a surprise. Wasn't Bruce Allen the GM everyone wanted not too long ago?

Yeah, but remember in that SuperBowl they beat a Raider team that Gruden started building when he was hired in his early 30's, at the time the youngest HC in NFL history. So Gruden beat a team he built with a team someone else built.

It sounds like your agreeing with me.

I agree that he won a SuperBowl with a team Dungy built. But to say he hasn't done much else is inaccurate. He built a helluva team in Oakland before he left.

Bill Callahan has proven he's a piss poor head coach more than once- the way he effed up Oakland shortly after their SuperBowl appearance and the train wreck in Nebraska. While Gruden may have hoisted a Lombardi Trophy with a team another man built, he still had fingerprints all over the AFC Champion that year.

Actually, to do what he did in Oakland at such a young age despite Al Davis is pretty impressive IMO.

That's too bad for Bruce (George's son), but I've never been impressed with Chucky.

I just read that the Cowgirls fired their DC Brian Stewart after 2 seasons. I mention it here because I doubt it's threadworthy.
