Re: Jason Taylor Released

Who fills his void? As of now, the only quality DE we have under contract is Andre Carter...

Re: Jason Taylor Released

I could be wrong, but this could mean that we sign another FA O-lineman (I don't even know who's left out there), and will probably go DE or LB in the draft.

Regardless, I think we're making another move very soon. At least Danny and Vinny keep it interesting.

I say get this guy even if it costs a 2nd rounder (next years)

Harvey Dahl: Falcons have placed a second-round tender on this restricted free agent guard/tackle, but he could be worth it. He is a big, nasty player who was very responsible for Michael Turner's big season.

Harvey Dahl

Re: Jason Taylor Released

We need to add kicker to the need list.
FA needs left:
1. o line
2. DE/ SLB
3. kicker

Re: Jason Taylor Released

I was just about to post this. I don't think it's as simple as he was refusing to work out. They'd been trying all weekend to come to an agreement on a new extended deal heavy on bonuses that would be voidable after this upcoming season.

i agree. I cant see JT walking away from 8M dollars and he had to have been happy with the Haynesworth signing... his agent must have a better offer from another team. perhaps new england? he'd be much cheaper than Peppers.

Re: Jason Taylor Released

Resigning Evans should be a top priority.

now here's a man with some sensibility. i applaud u, sir.

we should re-sign evans, use a late draft pick on a DE (like we did for rob jackson last year) and then wait until next year to seriously address DE. taylor hardly did anything for us last year so we'll basically have what we had on the d-line last year, plus haynesworth.

trade the 13th pick for some later picks and go o-line and linebacker.

That's the first thing I thought of, re-sign our guy. I wonder if they burned a bridge there when they already issued AH #92. That said a lot, doesn't look like they had any intention of talking to evans even. I'm sure he feels slighted.

Re: Jason Taylor Released

Him and A Carter play the same position and A Carter didn't want to move. I think D Evans was a better left defensive end anyways and P Daniels would be better also. You can add these guys and more with the 8.5 million in cap room. Maybe a punter, linebacker, O-lineman, and we won't have to trade back in the draft. I like it a lot.

BLESSING IN DISGUISE!!

If Vinny and Danny play this right, we are in position to snag two quality starters and then draft one of the real gems in the draft!!! Mark my words, this free agency season will go down as the one that turned the fortunes of the franchise. Im not saying Super Bowl, but if we address our needs wisely with the extra cap space, we will have the TALENT to turn the corner in the NFC East. Think about it, we were 6-2, without Dock, Haynewsorth, and Hall for half a season. Those three are not enough but if we can steal another piece or two...Wow!

Offense still needs to get better...if it doesn't we will stil be a marginal team at best.

Re: Jason Taylor Released

I agree with you. At thispoint we need some sound signing that won't break the bank but improve the team- SLB and o line.

Re: Jason Taylor Released

We desperately need a DE, LB, and a yound O-Lineman. I don't think we are filling all of those voids this offseason. We still need more quality depth on the O-line. As of now, Kendall isn't signed and I don't think they do that with Dockery back on board. We also need a good damn kicker! This will all mean nothing if the offense is still sputtering.
