Shit, look at Gus, they have had his ass all over the place. JC is better than Gus dude, at this point in time for sure. There are at least half a dozen teams that need a starter, that is why it probably will involve a third team.
Right, but they WILL get him for free once we cut him.

He'll be a starter in this league next year. We're just erasing all value he has to us by having interest in Cutler.

I think you may be overstating your case a little. I don't doubt that what the Skins are doing is hurting his trade value to some extent but he is still a capable QB who, I agree, will be a starter somewhere. So, I think he would have a relatively high value in a QB-starved league.

extend him to give him confidence? that's stupid; players almost always perform better on contract years.

I'm sure i've stated this before, but the downside to not extending his contract is if he has a killer year. then we are just raped by his new contract. while on one hand i guess that's a good problem to have, resigning a probowl player. downside is he gonna want a ton of moolah.

I would rather he prove he's earned the pay day, then reassure him that i think he can.

I would extend him or at least franchise him. His numbers and Cutler's are pretty close, the only difference is that Cutler got better pass protection and had 2 consistent wide receivers and a TE.

What the hell are we doing here? Can we have just one normal off season. Jason Campbell can be just as an effective QB as Jay Culter if he is surrounded by the right talent. There is no way that we should give up any picks for Jay Culter, we have more glaring needs on this team that we should focus on. After everyone in the Redskins organization swore that they had no intrest in Culter and to have this story come and stab Jason in the back is why we are known as the ass clowns of the league. I can only hope and pray that this story is not true and they are just using the Redskins to generate intrest from other teams. Wait, who am I kidding....
I feel sorry for Jason right now.

I don't think that Dan Snyder would allow Vinny to extend the contract of a QB that Dan clearly doesn't want.

Now that the cat's out of the bag, if the trade for Cutler doesn't go through Jason Campbell doesn't have a hair on his ass if he doesn't boycott all team activities and force the Skins to trade him.

I think we can now fairly assume that most of the crazy stuff done by the Skins FO originated in the mind of Dan Snyder.

Jason Campbell is not a crybaby like Cutler.

It's a business. Forcing a trade would be a way for Campbell to get a rich new contract from another team.

Which is EXACTLY why I hate the idea of swapping Campbell out for Cutler.

If we build up the line, JC will be a pro-bowler and have a great career with us.

Campbell worked VERY hard on his own to learn the system last year and played very well until the line completely broke down.

To those who criticize Campbell's and the team's second-half last year, are we all forgetting that Denver had an even more impressive crash and burn, from leading the (easy, noncompetitive) division by a large margin to losing the division and missing the playoffs entirely...LED BY CUTLER. Yes, Denver also had line problems which probably led to the RB problems...plus a horrible defense, but hey, if we're going to blame Campbell for us missing the playoffs, we better also blame Cutler.

I believe Denver and Philly should swap QBs. Solving two problems at once. Both have big contracts, so financially it should work out evenly.

McNabb for Cutler

Luckily, there are 10-12 OTHER teams pursuing Cutler and I bet all of them have more draft picks than us...so I'm praying someone else throws Denver a better offer than us.

I am against trading for Cutler and I'm OK with JC at QB. Nevertheless, there is NFW JC will ever be a Pro-Bowler. Good, yes. Great, no.

We can win with Campbell whether he's voted to the Pro Bowl or not. We did with Doug Williams and Mark Rypien, neither were "franchise", big-name QBs, but we built a great team around them.

Sacrificing the years we've invested in Campbell and giving away future draft picks will not allow us to accomplish this again. Cutler's price and risk are both too high.
