I picked out Arrested Development, They sung Mr. Wendel and Tennessee and what not. My dad picked out Michael Jackson Off the Wall. Still two CD's I listen to on a semi consistent basis.

Re: What was the first album you ever bought?
When I a kid, my grandmother gave me some birthday money which I used to buy this rump shaker
That was probably my first album...or New Edition's Candy Girl (on vinyl of course) I also vaguely remember Musical Youth's Pass the Dutchie (single, on vinyl) Those were the days when you had to drop the needle on the record, and then the best part was always seeing what the B-side track was going to be. Kids these days with their ipods...

Re: What was the first album you ever bought?
I don't think I bought an Album for myself until I was 16 or so. I'm pretty sure it was RHCP's Greatest Hits, and I bought it while on vacation.
My childhood was littered with "variety" compilations like 'Living in the 90's' and 'Cool Rock' and 'Jock Jams'. I remember the day I found out Shaquille O'Neal played basketball too!

Re: What was the first album you ever bought?
First album I ever bought was Kill Em All by Metallica but the first album I ever remember listening to was their "black" album when my uncle introduced me to them.
