Re: F... Bill Gates...
first, you guys want to employ trickle down economics. then, when someone like Gates uses it to his advantage, you bitch. this guy gives away more money to charity, then all of us combined. get over your self

Re: F... Bill Gates...
Gates has donated more money then we as a group will ever make. I can see why people would question why the goverment paid for his building but that complaint needs to be directed to the ones who gave him the money. Trickle down economics has nothing to do with getting money from the goverment.

Re: F... Bill Gates...
it sure does. the government gave him the money, and in return he created jobs. the basic principle of Reaganomics

Re: F... Bill Gates...
Sorry you are total off on your Reaganomics. He liked the idea of goverment getting out of the way so business can grow but I don't recall him saying we will buy the stuff for you. It was more he said we will give tax breaks and incentives to help business grow.

Re: F... Bill Gates...
Hey you cannot blame a guy for trying and if people don't like it then they need to look at the people who gave him the money. I'd sure hate to see what he pays in taxes.

Re: F... Bill Gates...
Microsoft pays a lot of money in taxes and makes a big contribution to our GDP. I suppose they could just move their business to another country and then we'd get nothing.
With that in mind, I don't have a problem with our government treating them "special".

Re: F... Bill Gates...
Not sure why you think he needs to explain it to me as I did not bring up the the fact that the goverment purchased one of his buildings. I just said to the person who brought it up that he sould be made at the goverment not Gate's for that.
This is what I said: I was just joking to get this thread going. I agree he has done more good then harm and if congress is stupid enough to pay for one his buildings then they are the stupid ones. I don't know why congress agreed to this but if it was to keep and create jobs then it will pay back the tax payers at some point. My brother in law was looking to buy some land and build a new office to get out of paying rent to someone else. One city through up so many road blocks that he told them that he was no longer interested. He went to the next city over and they gave him a bunch of tax breaks as long as 30% of his employee's lived in that city. Well he moved to that city and has 45 employee's and the city has recouped their tax breaks and is now making money off his business. Smart move for goverment in alot of cases but in his he only received tax breaks not cash to help build. This same city owned a bunch of buildings in the older part of town and allowed businesses to open shop in these building for rent free for several years. Now that part of town is booming and the city is raking in the new taxes. |

Re: F... Bill Gates...
I will say this, F Microsoft. Just got the red ring of death on my 2nd xbox 360. This one lasted about a year and a half, same as my first one. I guess that's the shelf life for these pieces of crap. Good thing I bought a replacement plan.

Re: F... Bill Gates...
I don't play video games and haven't since Nintendo 64 was the hot system, but I was thinking about dabbling again. I have a bunch of friends who are gamers. What is the red ring of death?

Re: F... Bill Gates...
It's when your xbox won't start, and the LED ring around the center button (which is usually green) turns red.
