The Cult is crestfallen. Apparently changing water into wine is one thing, changing an opportunity into a roster spot is something different.

Bartel is the clear starter. They just brought in Beck to keep the competition guessing.

Apparently Shanny had seen enough of Colt and Grossman IS a Super Bowl QB. Beck's probably no better or worse than Bartel but has some game experience. Could have a worse #3 QB.

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier

Grossman might be the worst QB to ever start a Super Bowl. They got there cause of their defense and Devin Hester, not Grossman. If he has to play more than a handful of games then the season is done.

Maybe so, but can you name one team that has a backup who can handle "more than a handful of games"? What you want in a backup is someone who can step into a game, without much prep, and continue the game. In that sense, Grossman is a good candidate, clearly he knows how to manage a game, I don't know that Colt ever proved even that much.

That's like saying someone is the ugliest guy to sleep with a supermodel. It's irrelevant, he was still a SB starter.

Now that being said, while I feel better about our backup QB starting 2-4 games than anyone else's in the division-other than Vick-but I wouldn't want Grossman starting any more games than that.

Is that like Hank Baskett, the WR for the bEAGLES who married that Playboy bunny? I think he was pretty ugly...

I've heard reports that Grossman looks good in camp. He DOES know Kyle's system already too.

I've heard the exact opposite.

Here's this morning's report:

-- 10:10 a.m. ET

Grossman’s Day
Rex Grossman appears to be having a strong practice.
While his passes are not always precise, almost every one of his throws has been caught.
His best play? He eluded pressure from the right and rolled left. He saw Joey Galloway running a deep route toward the middle of the field.
Grossman threw a high-arching pass to about the 5-yard line and Galloway made an impressive diving grab in front of a defender.
Later, Grossman completed a pass to Ryan Torain along the left sideline. Torain had to twist his body to secure the catch before going out of bounds.
Next play, Grossman rolled right and completed a pass to Willie Parker, who had a step on defender. Parker turned up-field and saw open field ahead.

I view it as a mercy cut. They already deemed him hopeless for the Skins, so they let him go early to find another team before he's too far behind the curve.

Yep, wish he would have panned out but hey, I get the feeling that we'll see alot more veteran names cut this year.

Are we going to hear the Ramsey excuses for Colt?
'He was never given a fair shot by coach.' Guuuaaahh!
'Zorn (Spurrier) ruined him.'
