Blog hits say, yes, the Cult is real.

^^ Now now, Colt is the greatest Hawaii quarterback since Timmy Chang.

You guys can poke fun all you want at 'Da Raid-ahhs. But considering the Broncos are dropping like flies at camp, its reasonable to believe they will challenge for a post season appearance, maybe even the AFC West.

Talk would truly get interesting if that were to happen with Jason Campbell leading the way.

I've actually said that on here before, Wild Card contender. I think they're a lock for 2nd-place in the division behind SD.

he should go to the UFL first to prove what he can be again, then he should have more offers. Why would he go to the raiders where A) their line sucks B) Jason Campbell is there so he'll be behind him again. Go to the vikings, seriously.

Say what you want about Tavaris Jackson but the guys is a pretty solid NFL QB. I'd say he might even be better then Campbell. The thing is the Vikings have Super Bowl aspirations and they would need a 2001 like Ravens defense to get that far. They're a great defensive team, just not good enough to win a championship on their own.

Tarvaris Jackson? Better than JC? HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! Gus took over for him in 2008 remember and went 8-3 with the Vikes. If that lunkhead Jackson didn't screw things up during his brief reign, the Vikes would have been playoff bound. That would have been a total scream if Gus got the Vikes to the playoffs. I would only get half the heat I do now for liking him!!!!!!

Tavaris looked a lot better in his limited playing time (mostly preseason). 2 years for a young QB is an eternity as far as development.

Yeah, but Tavaris really sucked in 2008 Tryfuhl. Not saying Gus is better than Tavaris, not yet anyway, since we have to see more of Tavaris to make a honest comparison, but saying Tavaris is better than JC right now, is quite the stretch.

Lets not have revisionist history Tarvaris wasn't playing that bad when Childress made the switch AND the switch was widely blasted as the wrong move by ESPN and NFL network football crews.
Go back and look at Tarvaris 2008 numbers: 1,056 yards 7 TDs 2 Ints 95.4 QB rating and Jackson DIDlead them into the playoffs down the stretch when he was one of the better QBs in the NFL:
NFL Videos: NFLTA: Viking way

As far who's better its a tough call b/c Jackson he's been playing for a much better team then Campbell, i would probably give the nod to Campbell but both he and Jackson are victims of inaccurate fan perceptions as your post illistrates.

Frerotte wasn't the reason they went 8-3. During one five game stretch the Vikes went 4-1, but Gus had I believe 3 TDs and 7 INTs. His passer rating wasn't so great that year either.

JC getting a division title his first year with the Raiders would put a question mark on the McNabb trade if we don't produce ourselves.

Without having read the full thread, a couple comments.

1) The AFC West is not the NFC East. JC has been going against Dallas, Philly and Giants D 2 times a year for a while now. Compare that to KC, Denver and even SD. His improvements, even to the point of a division title, would not really give a good comparison to whatever happens here in DC.

2) Even saying the Raiders will win the division seems a bit of a stretch, possible, but not the most likely outcome.

3) JC could be in a good position if Denver implodes and KC stays down as expected.

I understand all that, but it is all about perception, especially in the media. You know if my scenario does happen(JC in the playoffs, McNabb out) that some boneheads will question the move to get Donovan, and all that crap. The AFC West sucks monkey balls. THe Skins could easily win that division right now, but might end up as low as 3 in the NFC East in '10.
