Re: Let's put Shanahan on the spot
I don't like how the ship is being captained. Mutiny! Off with someone's head.
I wish I was Clinton Portis so I could go to Mike Shanahan and ask him for a trade. I'd smile just to piss him off too.

Thread mistitled.
It should be, "Let's put Shanahan on a spit...and roast him over a fire"

Re: Let's put Shanahan on the spot
Nerd.
Anyway lets talk about Shanahan, but first a quick word. Hockey is the coolest game on Earth Alright now back to Shanahan. In his first year in Denver Shanahan finished with an 8-8 record 1995 Denver Broncos Statistics & Players | Pro-Football-Reference.com In his second year in Denver Shanahan finished with a 13-3 record. 1995 Denver Broncos Statistics & Players | Pro-Football-Reference.com That is all.

Re: Let's put Shanahan on the spot
The greater majority has agreed the Redskins have problems on both sides of the ball. That same majority bought into the Allen-Shanahan plan for rebuilding this team into a competitive contender for the future. If we really believe what we've committed too, faith in that belief is going to be tested.
Reasonable suggestion relevant to how the team can/should/would be made better seem a more positive way of thinking than "we suck". The teams deficiencies have been well documented and it's going to take a while before they all can be corrected. We have a lot of work to do, the coming months will gradually begin to shed light on whether or not the faith we all confessed to have in this new administration is warranted. The current state of this team coupled with the work that needs to be done, presents a real challenge for the Allen - Shanahan group, how they meet that challenge will go a long way towards determining their final legacy here in Washington.

Re: Let's put Shanahan on the spot
wow longtime, thats was an eloquent statement. nice job, i agree, most of us here supported the front office change and knew it was going to take some time and tribulation.
We knew the passing attack should show immediate improvements with mcnabb and the shanahans on board. it has. We knew the switch to the 34 would take atleast a half season to learn and another full offseason of adding the right pieces. We knew the running game with an o line with a rookie LT and RT coming off season ending surgery and 3 aged running backs was going to struggle some. Well, i think we thought the running game would produce more than it has. Like longtime said, our current deficiencies are issues we knew coming into this season. We still have a year of additions and corrections to go through.

Re: Let's put Shanahan on the spot
The levels of Shanahan runners.
Terrell Davis level - Insane amount of yards and so much production you need to have migraines to give your opponents a fighting chance. Clinton Portis Level - Not as amazing as Terrell Davis but still an automatic pro bowler with 1,500+ numbers. Mike Anderson Level - You rush for a 1,000 yards, only to fall back into a platoon before emerging one more time as a 1,000 yard rusher. Rueben Droughns - You rush for a 1,000 yards in the Shanahan system but then opt to become a free agent where you do it again before fizzling oout. Orlandis Gary Level - You're a one year wonder Selvin Young Level - You're a productive member of a platoon but not a 1,000 yard rusher yourself. Peyton Hillis Level - You show potential to be the next great Shanahan 1,000 yard rusher but you have an emerging QB and your coach is about to get fired. Anthony Aldridge Level - Eh you had potential but you couldn't even make the team Maurice Clarret Level - You had all the talent in the world but emerged as a hack at the pro level So now where is Ryan Torrain?

Re: Let's put Shanahan on the spot
Good question on Torain. Shanahan was very high on him in Denver so we'll see.
