Re: Lorenzo Alexander

Classic overachiever. His versatility deffinately serves him well, it's rare to have a player that can do as many things as he can.

However, before I crown him savior, I want to see a little more of him at the LB position on a full time basis. Because of his limited experience at the position, savvy OC's will be coming at him with a variety of situations to take advantage of that inexperience. Let's see how well he handles it. He certainly can't be any worse than AC.

Re: Lorenzo Alexander

Carlos Rogers and Lorenzo Alexander would get mega bucks in the NFL the second they hit the market. Which, pending collective bargaining, could be next season.

Most of our guys are aging "system" guys. I think those two -- and maybe Landry and Fletcher as well -- would be assets on the free agent market in any system.

Well, of course Orakpo as well, but he's still three and a half years from free agency. That's an eternity in the NFL.

Do you really think Rogers would get big money? Even with all of his dropped INT's?

His actual job is to defend passes not to catch the ball. I think he gets paid weel but would get more if he was making those ints.

Catching the ball is part of his job since part of any defensive player's job is to get turnovers. He's got one part of his job down(coverage) but not the other(forcing turnovers).

I firmly agree with the Carlos Rogers because he is a Tarantula in coverage But Lorenzo Alexander wouldn't Net that much unless he has a monster year.

I can't Knock the guy he's a baller. Did you guys see that preseason tackle with no helmet against the titans when he like broke his head open IN THE PRESEASON. Thats the type of Players we need. If he's Successfull this season I'm Almost positive his approach to the game may rub off on the likes of Chris Wilson and hopefully PERRY RILEY. Imagine if Perry Riley develops nicely then we move Rocky to OLB and get one or two more seasons out of Fletch add-in a couple LBS in the draft maybe adalius thomas off Waivers WE could have a solid core of lbs for the next three-Four years which is our window of Opprutunity with MCNABB at the helm.

Also i believe the guy has the natural instincts to play pretty much any position short of WR or DB. He just seems comfortable at every spot. To LA

Re: Lorenzo Alexander

There aren't too many players out there that would have done what Alexander did to stay on the field. You figure the countless hours he put in to be up to speed on both sides of the ball. His hard work and determination has a Rudy-esque tone to it, but Alexander has the talent that Rudy did not.

He's tough as nails. Made a tackle in the 2007 Preseason against the Titans without his helmet on: Lorenzo Alexander’s No-Helmet Tackle « : EveryJoe - Sports and Entertainment News

And after his hit this past Sunday on a still woozy Jorrick Calvin, he's got his audition ready to be the next Terry Tate.

Re: Lorenzo Alexander

I have been saying for the last couple of years, the guy just makes plays every game. Whether its special teams, DT, DE, he just ends up making a play during the game. As far as him at OLB, i think it is just as bad as Carter. Chris Wilson deserves a chance to play. He fits the role a whole hell of a lot better than those two DE's trying to play OLB. Wilson is quicker, not as bulky and can do both, rush and cover.

^Said the same thing earlier this week. Not sure why they don't have Wilson starting and Carter/Alexander as the back-ups. Wilson already has the experience at linebacker (backing up Orakpo last year) and has shown he can handle the position, at least for now.

Wilson has made plays every time he has stepped on the field too. He may look the part of OLB more so than Alexander but, he's hasn't out played him. Alexander's awareness is outstanding.

Alexander Does have great self-awareness. That Play he made against greenbay in the redzone covering an Athletic Tight-end No one at LB on our team would have made. He realized the flow of the offensive line-man and didnt bite a beautiful play-action by rodgers. Thats a hell of a play. If rodgers completes that throw we're 2-3. Mad props to Alexander he's a Baller.

I agree. I have been saying since training camp we need to see more of Wilson. He is a football player.
I know I sound like a broken record, but I would love to see Alexander at Inside Linebacker with Fletcher. Then a rotation of Orakpo, Rocky and Wilson on the outside. Rocky looked great outside last week when he was there on a few nickle packages. Rocky is fast and would be a great pass rusher on the outside. Lorenzo who reminds me of those big Steeler iLB's types is more physical would be better suited inside. He would be a monster blitzing from there.
What has happened to Perry Riley, is he still injured? He was making plays in camp and preseason before he hurt his knee. Is he on IR?
