In any case, we better have some good mini camps and preseason if we hope to keep up with the girls or the iggles. I think Joe and the other coaches can get it done, but we need some team leaders to step up and lead the charge!!!

Garcia doesn't have the arm to get it down field though. At least McChoke can lob one up for him. TO can dominate most CBs in the air. He's one of the strongest receivers in the league, and he also has some speed.

Kind of like Rod Gardner, he's fast for a big receiver. I think with the right coaching Rod could still be a beast. ALthough I'm not totally against trading him!

I can't wait to see Owens blow up when McNabb hits him in the knees or overthrows him by a mile.

I was thinking the same thing I want to see TO's face when he's wide open and McNabb throw's one of his patent dart's straight into the turf, be careful what you wish for you just might get it.

I want to see him going over the middle and having Sean Taylor (please draft him Joe!) tattoo his facemask pattern on TO's ribs!

Rightly so. Had the Eagles failed to obtain a legitimate receiving threat, they possibly could have fallen behind the Cowboys and Redskins in the NFC East power struggle, given Joe Gibbs return to the Redskins and the Skins' various acquisitions, the Cowboys entering their second year under Parcells, and the Eagles losing several key players-- especially in their secondary.

Kearse was a big pickup for them-- crucial, considering the weakening of their secondary with the losses of Troy Vincent and Bobby Taylor. But if the Eagles hadn't dramatically improved their receiving corps, it would be easy to say they had taken a step back as a team. TO changes all of that, and lends a dynamicism to their offense that hasn't existed under Andy Reid's stewardship. If Kearse stays healthy and TO just shuts up and plays, the Eagles could be very scary next season.

True, but I don't understand why the Eagles gave TO a new contract. I understand that they want to win now because they believe their window of opportunity is closing, but I don't think it would be a good idea to keep TO for more than 2 years. He's getting old, he's a whiner, and he's not nearly as good as people say he is. So, I don't understand why they didn't just keep Owens for two more years, cut him, and not take a cap hit.

He never did invoke the clause of his contract allowing him to void the final years of his deal.

In any event, the Eagles are going to be VERY scary and their secondary has not degraded as much as people think. They've got some good young guys in their secondary to go along with Brian Dawkins. If their secondary stays healthy, they will be quite good.

I don't think that the Eagles D is going to be very good this season. Even when they were healthy, they could'nt stop the run. Then they pony up for a guy who doesn't play the run, and lose carlos emmons.
and this with Gibss and Parcells in the division.

As Thomas Boswell pretty much said this morning, TO will rot the team from the inside out, if a leash is not put on him. I'm not worried about the Eagles. They've got a good coach, a decent qb, a pass rush specialist, a loudmouth WR that the fans will eat alive, and thats about it.

I don't think TO will wreck the locker room. He says a lot of shit, but he backs it up and works his ass off to be the best he can!

I Think you are all missing the point about TO!!!

The Eagles have added a great WR but still have no one on the other side! So double him up and be physical at the line! More important is if thing don't go well for TO how long will it take for the fans in Philladelphia to turn on him? Now that will be funny!!!! In SF the fans put up with all the s**t he kept coming out with. But living out here on the left coast there is no love for him and on talk raido[KMBR] there has been the same feeling that Bailey got...Don't let the door hit you on the way out! A lot of times it is TO the fails in the times he is needed most! Now he is the man and it will be fun to see if he is ready for the fans that booed Santa! If he gets off on the wrong foot look out!!!!

TO will not be able to keep his mouth shut. This situation is a powder keg, because the Philly press will always be picking on him, and it is only a matter of time before he repeats that he is only as good as the QB. Also, McNabb's performance will suffer as he runs out of scapegoats.

While it is true that Philly's receivers are not top shelf, we have all seen McNabb bounce passes to RBS and TE's. TO will be lobbying for Detmer soon enough.

When you compare postions between us and Eagles, I think right now QB, Saftey and Dline are the only places they have better players than us.
