Yes I am showing my age.

I actually would not mind having Flynn to provide competition. But Flynn likely would be very expensive, thus hampering competition and the development of a rookie.

I agree with you. The Redskins should get rid of Grossman and Beck and add 1 QB through free agency and another through the draft. After what I saw of the awful and oftentimes comic relief level of play of QB play this year, both the starter and the backup positions both need upgrading.

Mark Brunell, Aaron Brooks, Matt Hasselbeck, Aaron Rodgers. All backup Packer QB's. All of which has led their team to the playoffs at one point or another. 2 with Super Bowl appearances, 3 with conference championships appearances.

Matt Flynn is the next Packer backup to succeed as a starter elsewhere.

Plus he played in the SEC so the Lions D was like super easy for him to pick apart today.

If we really liked Barkley from USC then Flynn would make sense 4 year contract get Barkley next yr he sits for 2-3 years knows the system in and out.

Flynn would allow us to not give up draft picks. Whatever the FO thinks is best I'm with.

This. A 1,000 times this. If Flynn is your guy then sign him. If RGIII is your guy then trade up for him. Just get someone that will help us win a Super Bowl. Still it would be nice to say DC, home of Ovechkin, Strasburg, Wall, and RG3.

No the Redskins would go after a guy who was at the end of his career and pay him all the money. Matt Flynn is a west coast QB. His skill set definitely fit the Redskins and what they want to do. What he did today was amazing. 480 yards and six touch downs. Believe me you have to have talent to throw for that many yards. This guy is young and can do all the things the Shannahans want. I think this could be the guy. I was not sold until I saw what he did today. He performed as well or better than Rogers, he is a guy we can win with now. He Also allows us to fill other needs, with our draft picks. My guess is the Browns will be feeling the same way, since Holmgren already found a QB in a back up for Green Bay.

Haven't seen enough of Flynn to give an opinion. He had a hell of a day today though. GB has got some major talent though, but still a remarkable accomplishment.

Hmm, I'm sure folks have said(not necessarily here) stuff like
Ryan Grant is irrelevant.
Their oline sucks
Their receivers suck
It's all Rodgers taking them along for the ride.

I suppose we could sign Flynn, trade down get an extra pick/picks get a CB, WR in the first round, C, QB, LB and whatever else we need in the other rounds.

If Matt Flynn didn't play today would you be saying this?

This thread would look pretty silly if it was posted without his performance after today's game. Looking a lot into one matchup against one team.

It's wild speculation to assume that he is as good as his performance today. His talent level is probably somewhere in the middle of his best & worst day.

Can't put too much stock into Flynn at this point. Good for GB that they have a capable backup, but I doubt his skills translate immediately to other teams.

I look at it like this. If we cut his production in half today he would have had 240 yards 3 TD passes and 1 int. Wonder what would happen if we cut Tebow's production in half.
