if he woulda said "ill give a high five" is that ok?

Was it bad for my high school coach to tell the defense to take out the QB and if the QB runs the ball "clean his clock" and "take him out"?

I agree this is bad, but 1 year is very harsh IMO for a player.

I agree the suspension was a bit heavy handed IMO but I get it.

Holy smokes about Vilma. A year without pay and a year of getting older away from a game ruled by young men. I don't condone his actions but I feel bad for him.

Vilma and Payton are the head of the snake if you will, they had to get hit hard.

Horrible move not notifying the players personally but I'm not surprised.

The Saints will be mediocre/bad this season. They won't win their division.

Brees should get out. Now's his chance with no contract agreement.

Re: Saints Player Suspensions Coming Down

Was it tough? Yup.

Were his actions beyond the pale? Yup.

We have beat this horse to death, some of you clearly think these kind of actions are "ehh, everybody does it so it's okay", "it's just how the game is played" or "they're making it a girly game". For those falling in these category and/or who can't/refuse to see the difference between encouraging hard play and encouraging playing to harm, I just don't have anything left to say. (Finally, you want to invoke the "Nurenburg Defense"? Fine - the name says it all as to its validity).

They did what they did and they got what they got.

Yeah I don't get the people who still think this wasn't a big deal and are shocked at the punishment.

Also, I know that there are people here who are big fans of saying that players need to STFU and just play. Well this is a PRIME example of player who should have done exactly that.

Maybe next time Vilma will think twice about saying something ignorant.

Re: Saints Player Suspensions Coming Down

Just to put this in perspective.

Leonard Little got a DUI and killed someone with his car. Shortly after that he got ANOTHER DUI.

He missed 8 games.

Was Goodell in charge when that happened?

If your looking for fair under GODell's tenure it'll be at the County, State or Worlds Fair.
