Re: Baltimore.

How could anybody like a team who's owner moved them from one of the best football towns in the USA (Clevland) and move them to Baltimore, then wins the Superbowl and fires the winning QB... idiots.

1. Eagles - I like Reid and McNabb, but I hate the franchise
2. Cowboys - nuff said
3. Giants - division rival
4. Ravens - They should be playing in a correctional league and Billick's an arrogant a--hole.

Re: Baltimore.

I like Peyton, he's humble, from what I hear he's a hard worker, and has a sense of humor......he's not full of himself like a lot of other QBs.......

Re: Baltimore.

I'm going to agree with whoever dislikes the Ravens' fans because it is truly hard to be justifiably obnoxious when your team has been there such a short time. I mean, I'm going to pull for the Nationals, but I can't be obnoxious about them.

Re: Baltimore.

Oh no, I've encountered blasphemy on the Warpath! Guys, I understand the intense hatred for the Eagles, I live here in the Philly area and these fans are easily the most misinformed of all football fans. Their intense passion for their team only magnifies the fact that they're idiots.

BUT, never ever ever is it acceptable for any Redskins fan to hate anyone more than the Dallas Cowboys.

Bear with me for a second:
November 23rd, 1978. Thanksgiving Day. The Cowboys bombed the Redskins 37-10, embarrassing them in front of a national TV audience. A banner in Texas Stadium read "Washington Slept Here." The Cowboys players called the Redskins "Turkeys", mocking them in Thanksgiving Day style.

From November 27th, 1980 to December 5th, 1982 the Redskins lost 4 straight games to the Cowboys. The game on December 5th was especially painful as Dallas thwarted the Redskins' bid at an undefeated season, dealing the Redskins their first loss of the season. Taunts from Dallas rained down yet again.

The Redskins went on to earn homefield advantage in the NFC playoffs. In their divisional playoff game, with the game in hand, the Redskins fans at RFK began to chant in unison "WE WANT DALLAS!", their voices literally shook the RFK stands. The following week, the Redskins exacted sweet revenge, crushing them 31-17 behind 140 tough yards from John Riggins. Make no mistake, the team's goal was to rip the Cowboys' heart out and pound them with Riggins until their spirits broke in two. And I can't convince you how important this game was, let Joe Gibbs convince you with his words after the victory, "This was the way it was suppose to be, I haven't even thought about the Super Bowl. This is our Super Bowl, this was everything rolled into one. The Redskins versus Dallas, the team we wanted to beat the most. How can you top that?"

Indeed. How can you?

It's important to remember our history, fellas. I'm only 25, I was 4 during that game, so I can't even remember this stuff. The passion for this rivalry has to live on in all of us. We can develop new rivalries for sure, but we must remember that the Cowboys are the team we all need to love to hate. They'll forever remain the team I hate the most. For those younger fans out there learn your history. And if anyone finds themselves feeling more intense hatred for the Eagles, go find something to detest about these Cowboys of today. Go back and view tape of Arrington ending Aikman's career with a concussion, because deep down you know you take satisfaction in that. Go back and watch Vinny T throwing that bomb with 30 seconds last year to beat us yet again. Go back and watch our beloved Coach Gibbs struggle to even look at Parcells in the eyes after those losses this past season, because of how much they personally hurt him. If those losses are hurting Coach Gibbs that much, they need to hurt us just the same; else we may lose touch with what it truly means to be a Redskin fan.

Re: Baltimore.

Schneed,

Good post. I can't stand the Cowboys. But, I give Philly the edge simply because they've been at the top of the NFC East for quite some time now. It's about time someone knocked them from their perch.

Re: Baltimore.

Schneed-
A historical hatred of the Cowboys doesn't and can't proclude an equal or more fiery hatred of the Eagles. My heart will always have room for more hatred and intolerance. [/sarcasm]

Seriously, though, between quarterback bounties, geographic proximity, the most obnoxious fans in the league (and their delight in the recognition of such), and near complete dominance since Kotite left, the Eagles are the biggest dog on the block. Maintaining a "Cowboys-first" mentality is like two corner stores trying to undercut each other's business - with a WalMart down the street.

If (when) we sweep the Cowboys next year, I'll be beyond thrilled, but it will be universally thought of as the Cowboys losing steam. If (when) we sweep the Eagles, well, there's anew sherriff in town.

I like that, most definitely. Not only that, the thing that upsets me the most even if we sweep AND stomp the Cowboys next year, Cowboys fans will be like, "So? How many years in a row have we dominated you?" That will eat into the very core of my soul.
