I don't think that's the plan, maybe into the middle of the 2nd quarter from what it sounded like.

After playing only one drive in the preseason opener 12 days ago, the Redskins’ starters are expected to play as much a full quarter Monday night when the Browns visit Landover, Md.

I'd like to see that too. From what we've been hearing, RG3 has been so-so in practice. Why not give him 25 or so attempts and let him sling it around a bit.

I want RGIII to look great score about 10 points, KC comes in scores about 14 & you see Kyle saying I told you give them a 2nd round pick him.

As much as a full quarter?

Christ. I have no idea why this team routinely gets preseason off. Nothing about this team shows that they don't need any extra work.

It just reflects the fact that the biggest success in the preseason is surviving injuries.

Personally I like us pulling the starters before the opponent does. That way our seconds go against their firsts, our 3rds against their 4ths etc. We might lose, hopefully not, but the coaches get valuable tape to make solid evaluations.

I don't like that mentality. Injuries happen. What if someone goes down the first play of week one? You can't predict that stuff and injuries will happen... the goal is to get your team ready first, evaluate young talent second.

I wish we could pull our starters first like you say, but it always seems that as soon as one team pulls theirs the other pulls theirs. Guess there's not much incentive to playing your first string play against someone's second

One qtr of work is pretty standard for the 2nd game.

Re: Gameday Thread: Browns vs. Redskins

last week didnt do it for me but ...

im starting to get pretty pumped up for another season of football.

i want to see:

1. rg3 trust his knee and not think

2. no injuries

3. no blown coverage or mis-communications deep. i dont want to see guys running free unmarked 20+ yards down the field.

i am not going to rush to judgment on his progression as a passer until week 10 or so when there is enough body of work to start forming opinions. dreading listening to sports talk tomorrow morning (either way he plays).

Re: Gameday Thread: Browns vs. Redskins

Brian Mitchell agrees with me - starters should play the whole half.

The super bowl champs played the whole half this week. Including Wilson. Many others did the same.

The 3-13 redskins... only a quarter.

No injuries, and I wanna see Moses, Long, Seastrunk, Amerson, Murphy, and Phillip Thomas out there progressing.

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.

Re: Gameday Thread: Browns vs. Redskins

Is Meriweather playing tonight or is Phillip Thomas going in with the ones? Either way I want to see Thomas look somewhat competent in coverage. I suspect they'll play him more so in the box and send him on a few blitzes though.

The thing I want to see tonight is Griff throwing the ball with supreme accuracy.
