Re: injuries

I get it, Giants were on a short week too, but a big brawl like that takes a ton out of you. You can't condition yourself for something like that in training camp.

Besides, by all accounts Gruden had the team doing a lot of hitting so that should not have been an issue.

Ultimately we didn't execute and it was turnovers that were the problem more than anything. But you could see we didn't have the get-off at the snap on either side of the ball.

every normal play in the nfl is a brawl. For us and the giants. Ok maybe the giants had it easier than us last night, but not last weekend. And we were the home team. Theres hitting, and theres endurance workouts.

Re: injuries

Blaming the brawl is a stretch. These are professional athletes and they just pretty much pushed each other for a minute.
it's not like each guy went 5 rounds with Jon Jones.

With a perfectly healthy team, we still suck.
Morris and Haslett have got to go.

Uncle. You're right.

I still believe in letting the season play out before passing any judgments. But yeah, the thing for the past few years was "Shanny didn't let Haslett run the defense his way."

Well then Haslett you better produce better results now that it's your show, or you're out. One good defensive effort against Jax isn't enough.

Almost as disturbing as last nights outcome is the realization that I agree with S10.
But WTF you gonna do.....let it play out and take a brutal accounting of players and coaches during that time. Work to improve and develop a competitive killer...never quit mentality. Guys that fall on the good side of the line (and coaches) stay. Those that do not...start working them out.
I do not mind losing (except I hate losing) and go down competitively fighting. But we got whipped like a bunch of dogs........shameful. We got man-handled and if they have any heart at all, our guys should literally be ashamed.
Move forward and make steady progress.....just...sigh.....tired of the "Groundhog Day" team....

Re: injuries

Our secondary was playing a lot of coverage with their back to the qb.

What was going to happen against a 2 time super bowl winning qb without a pass rush. Not saying more zone would have worked. It's how we are built.

With the lack of pressure from a tired (short week), thin d line and back ups playing nickle, I don't know what else to expect. Porter hasn't had reps, bree looked like a rookie.

Re: injuries

Well, he had a concussion. It's something you recover from in the short term relatively quickly if all goes well, I think, but of course there are serious long term repercussions. I'd be willing to bet he'll play against the Seahawks, but it all depends on how quickly he progress through the required steps. Gruden said today that he is being monitored accordion to protocol. I was curious so I looked it up:

"After a player-patient has been diagnosed with a concussion, he must be monitored on a daily basis, or more frequently if clinically indicated in the opinion of the Team Physician, through the Return- to-Participation Protocol (described below). Team medical staff should consider the player-patient’s current concussive injury, including an in-depth consideration of past exposures, medical history, family history, and future risk in managing the player-patient’s care."

Steps:
1. Rest and Recovery
2. Light Aerobic Exercise
3. Cont. Aerobic Exercise and Add Strength Training
4. Football specific Activities
5. Full Football Activity / Clearance

Re: injuries

Players lost to injury is not a good enough excuse to explain away the outrageous size and noxious odor of the turd the Redskins laid on the Fedex turf Thursday night.

Re: injuries

I hate to make excuses especially when as a redskins fan things seem so constant, but I harken back to Smoot's pregame tweet about people, myself included, thinking Halls absence (especially on a short week) was going to be a plug and play scenario. Between having a rookie corner and a fairly inexperienced MLB in Robinson AND the offense giving up the ball several times inside our 40. Well that's a recipe for 45-14

Re: injuries

Not sure any team can survive through the injuries we've had. QB out, best CB out. Top two TEs currently out. Plenty of others nicked up and clearly not 100%. Depth only goes so far on any roster.

Many teams have injuries ,it's part of the game but I do agree with who ever said that they believe it has to do with the "new collective bargaining agreement" and the hitting in practice rules .

Some of those injuries were probably faked. Giants have a history of doing that.

Yet another case of giants faking injuries.
