I want to go on record as cheering in the Kirk Cousins era in the second half of the Seahawks playoff game. I was almost murdered in the stadium for it but I've never liked "running" quarterbacks and I've never seen anything in RG3 that made me excited about him outside of a few rare razzle dazzle moments. I've hated this pick since they traded with the Rams and before it was even a done deal. I'm glad that this debacle is near the end, though he will still be a distraction for a little while. I'll be in section 112 against Miami watching what I hope will be the dawning of a new day for my beloved Redskins.

I see a bit of Brett Favre in Kirk.. He'll throw a few picks but he'll also get you 300 yards and can lead you down field when it matters. He needs seat time but I'm looking at a kid with 9 starts in the NFL. It's a little early to say he's not ready to transition to the role as starter. It's always a bumpy ride, you're just looking for improvement as you go..

Kirk earned it (as it should be) and hopefully he'll make the most of this 2nd opportunity.

Meanwhile....

RedskinsJake-

What have you seen that tells you he can lead the team down the field when it matters?

What I have seen is a guy who shits his pants when he is under any kind of mental pressure.

Please enlighten me. If you are happy that we now have Captain Turnover and Captain McConcussion as our top two qbs and rg III has failed to be what we all thought he was going to be beyond the ROY division winner 2012 season, then you must have a bad memory. 2015 is going to be a long year

When he's had the team behind him, he's done very well. The Ravens game in 2012 showed a lot. We're not talking a veteran here, he's a young guy who still needs 16 games to get there. Does he throw picks, yes he does. Am I concerned about it? No more than I was when Brett Favre and many others started out throwing them. Long term, with the support of the team, I think he can develop into an excellent QB. Considering the f'ed up situation he's been put in, I think he's handled it well. Much better than Bobby..

and if you remember this correctly...it was just a 6 game streak....before that the coach basically assumed the year was done...I think we were 4-6 and playing poorly...then we tore through the very weak NFC east that year...excluding those games...the Skins have been fairly average and more recently flat out bad to lousy. Any improvement is good. I will take an average game manager any day over drama over a supposed savior that always disappoints. I like Robert, but...I hope it is over.
I wish they would just cut him. It's like an alcoholic that says he wont drink but keeps that 1 beer in the back of the fridge....
Throw out the BEER!!

That Shanarat asshole ruined RGIII's career.

Shanarat is a good offensive mind, if he didn't have such an ego about wanting all the power he probably is still somewhere in the league.

Really, Kyle shanahan is the rose of all this clown show. He developed game plans that created RGIII - 2012 edition.

Griffin didn't know what was good for him. He should have never questioned/refused/been lukewarm to the read option. Now he's going to struggle just to save his NFL career.

Exactly. Dude snapped his ankle by planting and throwing on the run.

Shanahan badly mishandled his knee at the end of 2012 but RG3 is destined to be hurt often. He doesn't avoid contact well and doesn't sense pressure. When he gets hit he gets splattered like a bug on a windshield. Add in his speed and slight frame and you get carnage.

That kid was never the same after hurting the same knee, well knowing that he previously had reconstructive surgery on that knee, he risked letting him play till it tore again. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to say, "oh it's the same knee, let him heal". HE IS OUR FRANCHISE PLAYER!! (Was).

I like Kirk but fuck Shanahan and whatever he says, if he's a franchise quarterback then why didn't he start him?
