Re: Around the NFL- Week 2

so, alex smith walked in front of the frequency cart, it looks like they're using these:
RTS RKP-4B 4-Position Wireless UHF Keypanel-Base Station[]=60&fam[]=61&fam[]=68

which is telex encrypted UHF intercom. the rkp-4 replaces the BTR-1. i could be wrong, it was only on screen for like 2 seconds. I think they had one guy go to all the stadiums so the equipment is standardized as far as initial planning, but then it's up to the teams or game crew to run it (from something i saw a while back).

nascar has a company called racing radios that does basically all the setup etc for their stuff (initial and per race), everything's ordered through them, but it's mainly motorola TRBO based stuff, so it's 4-5watt UHF LMRs more or less.

for UHF line of sight is super important. VHF bends around things a bit more (they tested a vhf digital intercom system at the pro-bowl).

sorry if that's way off topic. it's a continuation of a post in the headset issue thread from last week.

I'm fascinated by the behind the scenes stuff like this and you obviously are very knowledgeable about it.. but then again I'm a bit of a nerd so...

He definitely is. Won't use the name at all. By the way, Manning threw a pick 6 and should have 4 interceptions on the night. He should be benched for RG3.

The Chiefs gave away this game so well, I thought it was the Skins out there. What a meltdown.

Re: Around the NFL- Week 2

If the Skins had lost the same way the Chiefs did tonight, I don't know if I could stomach football for a couple weeks. They just gave that game away.

5 freaking turnovers is ridiculous.

Barry's "energy," remember?

Although I will admit the Dolphins game went way better than I thought it would, perhaps Barry will prove he was a good hire after all.

Re: Around the NFL- Week 2

yeah, i wanted wade too, but barry's looked okay so far. I don't know that the fins O is a definitive test, but i didn't see much to complain about beyond some individual players (amerson) not being great.

...or is it, they just played a bad offense. Fun fact I learned tonight.

After tonight's game, Peyton Manning is now tied with Alex Smith with TD passes thrown at Arrowhead (23).

Smith: 18 games

Manning: 8
