if our offense can put up 50more yards a game, that takes them from 30th to 13th...

I am going to say we go 11-5 possibly 12-4 and go deep into the post season. I wont predict super bowl yet.

How about if our Offense can put up more than 10 points a game, that would be nice.

My focus this season is primarily on the Offense, Defense should be as good as last years. O-Line has to gel. Ramsey will have a break out year if that happens.

well, 15, but yeah... i think 21 would have meant 14-2 or something, either way, if we can become just average offensively we should be able to get to the postseason.

Our offense needs to put up more points. We are facing some tough offenses this season and I can't expect our defense to hold opponents to 17 points per game this season. Here's how I see it:

Offense posts 17 points per game 7-9

Offense posts 19 points per game 8-8

Offense posts 21 points per game 9-7 or 10-6

Offense posts 23 points per game 11-5 or 12-4.

Re: Joey T on Quite Frankly

I was at AC the last couple of day's and spent most of my time playing hold'em, I was wearing my skin's hat and ran into a few skins fans at the tables, which started the rest of the tables talking and they asked me how I thought the skins would do? And I said I believe they are going to the playoffs, so they asked why, and so I told them, the key to any team is the offensive line, but even more so for Gibbs because he ask's much more of his line, they have to hold their pass blocks longer because of the deeper pass patterns which take longer to develope, so you need top lineman, we can't get by with cookie cutters like Denver.

Then some said Ramsey really suck's and that's our biggest problem, and again I explained that a Gibbs offense is very difficult to learn, and even more difficult to trust, trust you ask? The QB know's he has to hold the ball longer which mean's the D will have more to time to break loose and pummell him, so in his mind he knows that when the WR's make their defining moves downfield he wont have much time to deciede where to go if his primary target is covered, which translates into happy feet, ala Ramsey, Rypien would constantly throw falling backwards to help ease the impact of a hit, almost every QB I can remember other than Theisman had some kind of nervous reaction in the pocket of a Gibbs offense, but when they became comfortable the offense was a thing of beauty, my thought is this, our running game will start putting defenses on the defensive which will open up the passing game with play action and so on, which will build Ramsey's confidence as the season goes on.

Then some where doubtful that we would be able to run the football, and I said I had no doubt's this season, and pointed to the Steelers game and how we didn't run the ball, but we were blowing them off the line of scrimmage, creating huge holes for Portis, early on in the game, and that pretty much silenced them. I don't know about a SB just yet, Joey T. is putting his ball's on the line, but I do know what he's starting to see unfold with this team, remember the same type of scenerio happened once before and he lived it.

Re: Joey T on Quite Frankly

I think our offense could easily score 21 points if we dont get a lead then become overly conservative. It seems like once we're up by a TD we're not worried about scoring another one till we're tied,

As far as these comments. Joey T is a huge homer, but at least we have a homer! The Redskins could definitely be great this year, but I think we'll have a good idea how the season will go after two weeks of play.

THATS RIGHT ON Ramseyfan ...

See the Bills last year, decent offense, not even really that good, and they let their D and the Special Teams carry them, they scored about 20 a game, not counting all the special team and D TD's - and they should have been 10-6. Bledsoe had the same numbers I think PR can put up this year ...

Re: Joey T on Quite Frankly

Another thing to remember: if we can improve our offensive efficency on 3rd downs, we will have longer drives. That will keep opponents offenses off the field, meaning they score less points. Plus, we have to eliminate TOs. That too will take points from the opposition. Imagine if the offense helps the defense in these ways! We may not need to become the Colts here--just a Joe-Gibbs ball-control team. Time of possession and TOs is the key. (Not to say we should score more points!!! But that's not all our weak offense didn't do last year.)

One of the crucial stats in a Gibbs offense is time of possession. Watch for it this year. With a good o-line, it will improve.

Good post....took the words out of my mouth! I think Detroit rings a bell to me last year. We we got a lead in the second half off a blocked punt. We then proceeded to throw the ball exactly 2 times in the second half. Portis was carrying the piano baby! Hopefully we can change that philosophy and keep attacking people this year.

Re: Joey T on Quite Frankly

it took me a while to realize what gibbs was doing during the offseason (losing our receivers in favor of faster smurfs)- but i think the speed replaces height on the corners to help with the running game. with the perceived threat of a downfield attack, combined with the stretch plays implemented this year, the offense has been built to suit portis' game. the big question still remains- ramsey being able to create a perceived threat of a downfield attack.

the defense is going to take it up a notch, and today's post article says williams is focusing on forcing turnovers this season. for the first time in a while, i can say playoffs are a real possibility.
