Re: Do you trust Gibbs?

Offiss, Coach gibbs past doesn't in any way suggest he's that kind of man.

I honestly believe that we are not seeing what the caoching staff are seeing. There is something that will come to light after Ramsey has left.

Re: Do you trust Gibbs?

Brudlee,
I would suggest that football has always been based on performance and not promises. Your boss for instanced propmised you a job but if you were dropping stuff all the time, could not focus on the task at hand or get the project any further, let alone you bumped you head. He would set you down, get the next guy to get the job done for the team.

I say it makes the players step it up and fight for their job and not think about what was promised.

Plus I don't think anyone here can quote the Coach saying "I Promise P. Ramsey will be the starter"

"He's our starter" Yes
"He's our guy" Yes

peace to ya bro
mike

However, my fear is that there is now an element of distrust on the team. Every member of that starting offense was told that the franchise had faith in Patrick Ramsey - and the history of faith in a starting quarterback lasts longer than 19 minutes (see Brunell, Mark - 2004). Those players who made a bond with Ramsey based on the stated faith in Ramsey have reason to question the things that come out of their coach's mouth now.
I'm going throw out this possibility, as far-fetched as some may believe it to be. What if the players really don't have that much faith in Ramsey? What if some of the veterans (let's say Springs and Patten for the sake of argument) went to Gibbs in recent weeks and said "Coach, I know you declared Ram the starter, but we're not so sure about that. We don't feel he's ready yet?"

Re: Do you trust Gibbs?

I am also tired of this fumbled twice nonesense, he didn't turn the ball over on one of those, shall we count the INT's Brunell would have had last year, and to come, when they go throw a defenders hands? Portis had a fumble as well should we bench him? Ramsey had 1 bad throw, the 1 fumble we did lose he has hammered in the throat like he was a member of the WWF, after throwing a TD I might add, which what else is new a ref who can't see our WR's getting raped downfield see's something no one else see's and negates a TD.

The past is the past.

I agree on the second part, and it may very well be Gibbs has lost it.

I think we need to use orange for sarcastic or facetious comments.

Just to avoid misunderstandings.

Oh, and brown for stupid comments.

Re: Do you trust Gibbs?

If this ship sinks with Coach Gibbs at the helm then I'm going down with it every time till the day I die! The man earned that kind of respect from me and nothing can ever take it away. This little episode is just part of the intrigue of watching him work this team back to greatness. He works so hard it's silly. That's all that matters. Joe Gibbs best is got to be better than most of the rest. I can't wait to see what happens this year. We have so much potential. Granted that the QB situation is a vital piece to the puzzle, but everything else is pretty darn good so far isn't it?

JW has given an absolute truth. We really DON'T have a very good QB ready to play right now. BUT, does anyone even remember who was playing QB for Baltimore when they won the Super Bowl...I can't. But I remember they had a stud defense and a running back named Jamal Lewis. Their QB just managed the game. It can be done and I'm trusting Gibbs to see what the rest of us can't.

You are correct
But he owes it to the fans, management and the players to start he QB that gives them the best chance to win.

Gibbs has been making mistakes handling players, but i trust him to do the best for the team no matter how bad it makes him look.
