Re: Qb
he had one bad half. he has been doing exactly what the coaches want him to do perfectly until that one bad half. you don't sit a guy for one bad half.

Re: Qb
I was a Brunell supporter a lot I just thought that Gibbs might've sat him down...cause that was a freak game. And most of them were deflections and one he overshot the reciever.

Re: Qb
I agree in principal that you wouldn't pull a QB after one performance like that (and having said that you know where I still stand after PR being pulled in the middle of the first game) but... you guys have to agree that brunell does not have the accuracy and nor does he get the defensive reads he was getting in the first half of the season. At first when he was on the field he was there with a purpose, and now it seems that he's a bit lost and off target... and we've seen too much of that in a QB the last several years.
I'm still not for pulling him... but if i were in gibb's position, i may shorten the leash a bit if he doesn't step up next week at home. Also, I'd try and put antonio brown in the slot position (if not at the #2 position because taylor jacobs just blows no two ways about it) and see if that makes a defense give portis and moss a little bit of room. |

Re: Qb
if he did this bad the first 5 games of the year as he has the last 5 i would be calling for his head but we are a playoff contending team and playoff teams don't pull their QB 3 weeks before the playoffs

Re: Qb
While Brunell's productivity has taken a dive recently, you can't pull the guy with whom the receivers have developed a chemistry after 13 games and insert a right hander that hasn't seen the playing field since week one.
As bad as the offense was against a poor defense today, making a quarterback change now would make things astoundingly worse. The real problem is that teams have zeroed in on Santana Moss and you cannot depend on Chris Cooley to pick up all the slack. Taylor Jacobs had his third pathetic game in a row as the #2 receiver, and if that doesn't settle once and for all his capability as a viable wideout, I don't know what will. He presents no consistent option for the quarterback whatsoever. |

Re: Qb
I agree... I don't understand why everyone moistens their hanes-her-ways for Taylor Jacobs. I'd love it if Antonio Brown could step up and challenge for a recieving spot and actually catch balls thrown at him. Him and moss could be absolutely lethal.

I agree, and just because he had that bad game (catching the ball) in the pre-season shouldn't mean he dosen't get another opportunity.Sometimes players have games like that. remember Robert Royal two weeks ago? |

![]() Expect the Hanes-her-ways to be nice and dry from here on out. As for Antonio Brown, yeah, you might as well try anything to get this offense going again. |

It doesn't seem to me that defenses really respect a deep passing game from us, it's not that our recievers can't get deep, but oppossing defenses know Brunell can't reach them, one of the commentators yesterday pointed that out on a pattern Farris ran, he said Farris was wide open but to far downfield for Brunell's arm to reach. Even if brunell could through a deep ball he has to put to much air under it to get it there, which allows DB's to recover. He's been very good with the short to intermediate passing game, but I think as defenses recognize this and adjust, it makes it harder and harder for our offense to function, those safties and LB's have to be forced to respect our downfield passing game we can't have them houvering around the line of scrimmage just teeing off on our running game. I know Portis had a pretty nice day, but as usuall late in the game we couldn't run it, if it wasen't for a hurculeon effort by our offensive line pushing Portis forward for that last firstdown, we would have given the ball back again with less than 2 scores to beat us. |

Re: Qb
Brunell has been pretty average for the past six weeks, but there is no way Gibbs will take him out unless he is hurt. No chance. That being said I honestly would like to see Ramsey get his shot. Brunell will never take us where we want to go and Ramsey is outta here next year if we don't see him play again.
