Re: Battle of the Tribes! Chiefs vs. Redskins Gameday Thread
I have to agree, but the owner's are pure money men now. They don't care about winning, no incentive to since they are dealing with such a dumbed down populace. Why there is a multi year waiting list for Skins tickets is beyond me, but most of the Skins fans are delusional govt workers or contractors, so it fits.

All you have to do is look at the crypt keeper in Dallas to understand. He plays with his team like he is playing NFL franchise mode on Madden, and he messes it up, but damn, those Uber Rich Texans keep filling his stadium 8 times a year, buy all the Cowboy garbage, and buy up those overpriced concession stand stuff.

Cousins.. Looking about the same. Looks uncomfortable in the pocket.
I've changed my mind. We don't need another WR or anything on Defense as bad as we need a middle of the line

As much as it pains me to say it I think between a decade plus of consistent losing and now the coaching drama I really believe this is the worst organization in the NFL right now.

Re: Battle of the Tribes! Chiefs vs. Redskins Gameday Thread
No, in terms of playoffs, etc there are worse, but this team isn't going to win for another 4-5 seasons. RG III might get better next season, but his supporting cast is going to get him killed. That is why a few weeks ago I said he probably will be a bust. I find it laughable now that Jason Campbell is leading the NFL in passing this week thus far and besting Tom Brady. He was another kid that was OK, but his supporting cast wasn't up to par.

By the way, don't all of those hardcore blue collar fans in Detroit sit in a nice, warm, dry dome?

Indoor outdoor wasn't part of the discussion, just why some places are more docile than others. My Rustbelt statement was economic in nature. We make cars up here in Detroit, while in E Ohio and Pittsburgh you have steel mill types. Sure there are white collar Lions and Steeler fans, but each city has its own persona from what it is known for. The origin of the entire discussion was based on why some people are more into sports than others with regards to DC fans of the different DC teams. I have been at many venues for both college and pro sporting events. Blue collar types usually are louder and more rabid than white collar types. What stadium is louder usually Heinz or Fed Ex? You have the white collar corporate types in the boxes, but who is in the stands? Blue collar types generally are more fanatic about their sports. You could probably say that younger fans are louder as well, etc. I don't see that as being so ridiculous as it is based on 33 years of observation at many different venues. |
