Plus they are not pitting each QB against each other, I am not sure where you are trying to go with your argument. The list could have been 0 or 32 long.

Wilsons play has no bearing on Sam and vice a verses but both are strong candidates for benching.
I guess by that logic, then they should have included Bryce Young, who was pretty terrible in his first start and is already hurt (durability was a big question given his size).

Sure I guess, still doesn't mean Sam shouldn't be a potential candidate for benching

But it is also pretty obvious Bryce has a much longer rope then anyone of the six on that list, considering his draft stock and career starts

The only thing that will bench Bryce this season would be an injury

Very good assessment there. My two cents are that Howell himself does have a longer leash. Even if he plays the way he has we could be sitting at 5-2 or 4-3. Neither is a bad mark. The flip side is RR might be playing for his job too if he is, he knows Brissett has more precision.

Think of Sam as a coin currently flipping around in the air , heads he is a franchise QB and tails he is a bust, we are still waiting for the coin to land and IMO it should flip for 17 games because what does Brissett really bring? Maybe if he is better then Sam say 2 or 3 more wins better; he certainly isn't anyone's long term answer at QB1 but a very nice QB2 (which more and more in todays NFL is a very nice piece to have on a contending team)

We really need to see Sam and write out the entire chapter and say definitely he is is or is not the MAN.

I see no point in turning to JB until we know for sure Sam isn’t the guy.

Agree 100%. I'd give him the full season unless he bombs out, which I highly doubt. His potential factor is way higher than Brissett who didn't impress in the preseason anyway. Still think Rivera is gone after this season.

Even at that point it would be foolish to go with JB. If Howell stinks it up it means we're done for playoff contention and Brisset would only hurt the future if he wins a few games.

I agree with you but the coaching staff doesn’t.
They don’t survive a 5 or 6 win season.

I think they need to win more than that to get another year. 9 at the minimum

I don't understand why the Jets don't call Wentz. He is better than Wilson and the guy they just bought in.

Kaepernick wrote an impressive letter lobbying to be the practice squad qb. Denied. Saleh seems loyal to Wilson this year. Noticed there was some contentious behavior between some of the Jets on the sideline last game. Saleh cannot being having fun now. Broncos fans are thrilled not to have Hackett, and they are still a weak 0-3.

They both suck!! I would not sign Wentz, obviously no one has for a reason.
