It still doesn't feel right to me to go with a guy at QB that has "potential upside" at 30 years old and looks so-so during preseason. Not to say that Rex looked amazing, but I wish Beck had looked the way that Rex looked against the Steelers and Ravens. If Beck was a rookie or younger, I'd be fine...but I dunno. I hope I'm wrong and I will root for the guy, but I'm just iffy about him starting.

Beck can use a little more seasoning.

Besidies, if history wants to repeat itself, Grossman should win the job, then suffers an injury due to some cheap player, and then Beck lights it up for the rest of the season. lol

I think MS is going to wait until the last possible minute to name a starting QB.

Yeah he said that last week. He wants the Giants to have to plan for both guys.

I doubt the Giants will do anything different no matter who starts at QB.

exactly. i doubt they are scrambling coming up with a "gameplan" based on our two quarterbacks.

Maybe not, but both guys bring different skill sets to the table. It at least gives the Giants some uncertainty.

I'll admit I'm not an expert QB evaluator like a lot of people on this site but I just dont see much difference in Beck & Rex. Sure Beck is a bit more mobile but its not that big a difference. I could see needing to plan differently if the Skins had a choice of starting a Vick-style QB or a pocket passer who do totally different things but that's not the case here. Heck, I'm sure Shanny will do anything different with the O no matter who starts.

Coughlin's gameplans for the D:

Rex starts..."everyone run to the backfield!"
Beck starts..."everyone run over there!"

Great plan. We have that card to play so we should.

I heard some guy on ESPN Radio last night say that since Beck was starting the 4th game, it's a clear indication that Grossman has won the job.

I tend to think letting him play is more proof that Beck is the man. He hasn't started a regular season game in 4 years and didn't get much of a training camp this year, so he's getting his snaps to get more comfortable. That's my take.

I like the confusion Shanahan is causing, even if it's only in the media...but the Giants DO have to prepare for both.

Speaking of the Giants...they got torched in the part of the game that "mattered" last night when some starters were in. Brady had 4 drives...17 points. Giants won 18-17 once the scrubs came in. Devin Thomas had 4 catches for 42 yards. Still a preseason stud...ha.

From what Beck said on Redskins Post Game Live yesterday it seems like he thinks that's the case as well. Since according to him they said he was gonna play because he missed the snaps he would have had in the first game.

Re: Who do you want to start at QB?

I'm not sure Beck played as badly as JT would have us believe. I don't think he played well but more just average. KS clearly called a different type of game with a lot more straight drop backs and so forth. Our line strength is not going to be doing that and it showed. JB had a little more in the face pressure and for the most part he handled it OK. Not in love with his game tonight but it wasn't a full on debacle...and it wasn't as poor as JT made it out to be. Given the lack of weapons I'm not sure Rex does any better.

Well, he did show that he can display a critical skill of a QB on that one play a defender got free: delivering an ACCURATE strike while being hit. He just needs to do it more often.

But, the game stills seems a tad fast for him, as his dropback is not fluid just yet.
