Remember how good this defense looked in preseason? I expressed my concerns that defense wasnt tested at all but I was pretty much blown off

Re: Skins Viks Postgame

A pass rush would make this team 100% better. One player who could put pressure on the QB would make this team better immediately. We have 2 good corners who should not be getting burned like they are. Only reason I can think of is they have to cover way too long. First player drafted should be a real without a doubt no questions asked legitimate pass rusher who can put pressure on the QB.

For example if we has LAwrence Taylor we could be in first place with just a little luck. The Skins dont need DB more than they need a damn pass rush. One really good player who could would make an extreme difference in this team. I realize Lawrence Taylor is a once in a lifetime player but someone with serious above average skills at pass rushing should be priority one.

The lack of pass rush is why this has been a sorry, no account team, for decades. It has been a chronic, long term problem.

By the way why was there so much buzz about Jarvis Jenkins his rookie year? Has he even done anything? I don't get it.

I agree with the sentiment on this forum, the team would be complete different with just one elite pass rusher on defense. The coverage would be better, and more than likely the linebackers would have an easier time getting further pressure.

Of course we all know that won't happen, will draft another Josh 'McRibb' LeRibeus as a third round bust. The competent teams actually get starters out of their third round picks, but not us.

So how bad of beat down will the Eagles put on the Skins this upcoming weekend? With our garbage defense that cannot stop the likes of Christian Ponder and Matt Cassel, Foles stands a good chance to better the record he tied with 7 TD throws. It will be a nightmare to visit my parents in south Delaware, the place is overrun with Eagles fans.

Orakpo was supposed to be the "answer" to the problems

Foles will shift into "God mode" by the 3rd quarter.

Eagles have moved the ball all year long. Nothing will change Sun. Foles has really turning out to be a pretty damn good QB.

This is why no one should never ever pay attention to pre season. All we had to do is look at the Seattle game. They ran our defense over, that was forgotten because of RG3's injury.

However...this off season the first priority should be O-line first. I think the way the league is now you win with offense. I think with better coaching the D can improve a little bit.

One thing we've chose to leave out of the defense is secondary blitzes, which was one of the more effective ways we created pressure last season. It's like Haslett gets a healthy roster (orakpo mostly) and forgets everything he learned from the season before.

I couldn't agree more. I love Kerrigan, solid player, but I don't see him as an upper echelon pass rusher. Shanny traded out of the the #10 slot to #16 (and later picks), that netted Kerrigan, and I believe Hankerson and Helu. And who was on the board for the taking at #10? J.J. Watt. I would trade our 3 back in a heartbeat to get perhaps the most impactful player from that draft.

Why the fourth-down pass to Santana Moss against the Vikings was a good call

If they could have drafted J.J. Watt and did not, I think I am going to vomit. He would have single handedly transformed this defense, especially being able to collapse the pocket.
