Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)
I like it. After being harassed by SEC defenses they'll see NFL defenses as a sort of easy mode.

That is either the greatest idea or the biggest epic fail since I watched that guy mop the carpet at the movies.

This statement makes feel like the Jamarcus Russell situation would be the greatest move in NFL history compared to this.

Are the Eagles looking for a QB? It looks as if they will be drafting before us.....

Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)
The Eagles need an offensive line, they will (and should) be drafting a tackle. I would imagine they go QB in the later rounds. As I've said before, Andy Reid's biggest mistake this year was to have a $2 dollar offensive line protect his $100 million dollar QB.

I doubt it. I think, Reid or no Reid, they stick with Vick.

Still, the Philly defense is in worse shap than the offense. I could see them look for the best DT or LB w/ the first pick too.

Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)
Philly is married to Vick financially through next season, but I think at the time they did the extension it was obvious that no amount of year one regression could make Vick look like a non-option at QB for 2012. I really don't think Philly was caught off guard by the injury that cost him the last three games.
Going forward, quarterback has to be one of their largest organizational weaknesses, and I think their chances of addressing it in 2012 go up substancially if they divorce themselves from Reid. And to some degree, I think Reid's chances of returning are roughly based on whether or not they believe Michael Vick can win the super bowl on his current contract. If they are just going to use him as a veteran stopgap in a new scheme, there's no reason to let Reid pick the next QB, even though he's good at it. The Redskins of course aren't paying attention, but they should be. Just replace Michael Vick with Rex Grossman, Andy Reid with Mike Shanahan, and good with not good, and I think that paragraph could be re-written for the Redskins and be very relevant.

I think that one question that hasn't been brought up yet in this thread is which prospects in the upcoming draft would actually be better options than Rex Grossman as rookies. I think a big part of the philosophy that the Redskins will compete in 2012 is that we'll draft a guy who sends Grossman to the bench and Beck to retirement, and then we'll improve by 3 or 4 wins based that alone. But if the people who can do that are limited to being Andrew Luck or Matt Barkley, it would seem unlikely that the Redskins would be able to significantly improve on Grossman next year. Unless of course they go the free agent route instead/in addition.
