I used to think the same way until Smooty put a bounty on my posts. Notice I haven't been posting as regularly as I used to? I got my fingers broke man! My fingers! They're my livelihood. Doc says I'll never type the same again.

Psh. You knew the risks when you decided to play the game.

If guys are being rewarded for big hits, and being rewarded even more for knocking a guy out of a game, you almost have to assume that any borderline looking play was dirty and there was intent to injure.

Not sure how you're still not seeing the problem that bounties create.
I lost all respect for Williams and the players that went along with it. I understand players trying to make hard hits, but any player or coach promoting hurting another player, should not play or coach in the NFL. After seeing that hit against Manning, it made me sick to think that Carter or Daniels got a bonus because they hurt Manning.

I don't think there are too many regular posters around here who sincerely cheer for the Redskins opponents to get injured.

Not career ending or even season ending. When Dexter Manley knocked out Danny White back in 82 I cheered. If you're old enough to remember that game then I assume you did too.

i probably cheered cause that's one of the reason we all watch football. to see a kill shot. glad aikman turned out ok but that was a legal hit and it ended aikman's career. if it wasn't lavar then someone else would've done it.

Well I was 4 years old, so no, I don't remember that. I cheer a hard hit by a Redskins player on an opponent all the time. But if it's a hit that sends a guy to the locker room, I get no joy from that.

No issue with cheering the hit, but cheering the injury is another thing.

Are we really still stuck on this?

It's one of my Top 5 Redskins plays of all-time. Does that make me a bad person??
