All the Ravens fans have long faces today, I was like cheer up at least your team is not the Redskins. The Ravens are built to be a good team for a long time.

AMEN to this!!!

6th pick in the draft means - - measurably - - that only 5 teams in the league sucked more than you did.

I guess when that is your team's status, you have to find some kind of solace somewhere...

Re: AFC/NFC Championship Game Thread

Interesting take on yesterday's games by Rich Tandler:

"Eli Manning is getting a lot of kudos and I suppose he deserves some of it. He was getting smacked around pretty hard by the Niners defense and he kept getting back up and pitching. But he averaged a pathetic 5.4 yards per attempt. And if poor, sad, sick returner Kyle Wi had not give Eli a short field by fumbling punts deep in 49ers territory not once but twice the Giants would have been shut out in the second half and overtime. He and Brady will both need to up their games if we’re going to have a compelling Super Bowl. That the two quarterbacks were credited with “wins” yesterday shows just how useless that concept is."

I can't believe the Giants are in at 9-7. Crazy. Well, I was rooting for the Ravens but at this point I just want a good game, which I think we'll get. Just glad I'm no longer up in CT having to listen to all these Patriots and Giants fans

Re: AFC/NFC Championship Game Thread

Spooky:

In 2007, the Giants started the playoffs by beating an NFC South team. Then they beat the No. 1 seed on the road. Then they beat the No. 2 seed in the conference title game when the foe turned it over in overtime and gave the Giants a short field and the Giants won on a Lawrence Tynes overtime field goal. Then they moved on to face the Patriots in the Super Bowl.

In 2011, let's see ... NFC South team, No. 1 seed, No. 2 seed, overtime, turnover, Tynes, Patriots. Check.

One more thing:

2007: Giants lose to Washington 22-10 in Week 15.

2011: Giants lose to Washington 23-10 in Week 15.

As they say it's not how you start but how you finish. The Giants finished strong. I kind hate having to root for them, but I'd rather see the Giants win it all again over the Patriots.

Re: AFC/NFC Championship Game Thread

Gtone Congrats again! Big win yesterday.

Don't know why some one would say the GB win was a fluke. Gmen outplayed the Pack. Rodgers and the WR played piss poor in that game.

Yesterday was definetly a tight game in which the Giants capitalized off of a young man's mistakes in the PR game.

Re: AFC/NFC Championship Game Thread

I'm happy for Devin Thomas. Pretty cool for a guy who just completely could not do anything we needed him for to go elsewhere and be a playoff "hero" if you want to call him that.

The Giants have got to stop putting him on offense though, but it's tough when you only have three NFL receivers on your roster.
