Re: Better days ahead. (Off season part 1 thread)
Goldson's contract will look significantly different... it will not be with the Redskins. He was the 60th ranked safety out of 60 . The Redskins can do much better for half as much money

Damn homie you've been on the board for 2 seasons now, you should know better. If you're going to make outrageous claims you gotta back them up. What credible source is saying this?

Re: Better days ahead. (Off season part 1 thread)
My issue with Goldson last year was the missed tackles when having come up in run support and short passes. I thought it got worse as the season went on, even before the injury.
I think in coverage he was ok, certainly not terrible. He's an average safety who makes a difference more in the locker room and communicating in the secondary. He's getting guys lined up and at the right depths. This is stuff that not "grade-able" but extremely valuable.

Let the signings begin. I remember the name but didn't realize how ineffective he has been during his career.

Goldson will stay. Scot wants to build through the draft and DG was probably just a stop gap guy for a couple years anyway.

Re: Better days ahead. (Off season part 1 thread)
The Washington Post considers the Redskins "lukewarm" on free agent ILB Keenan Robinson.
Robinson has made 21 starts over the past two seasons, but is a poor tackler who graded out as one of the worst players in the league in Pro Football Focus' ratings. If Robinson is back with the Redskins, it will probably be on a one-year deal after free agency has already started.

Reggie Ragland could fix all our ILB problems.

DG is an inspirational leader, but, we still had too many breakdowns in the secondary and he had his fair share. I really feel we could have the same number of coverage issues for less money and gain some speed and maybe some upside. But, as many have said... Scott knows best, so I'll go with he feels is best. |

Re: Better days ahead. (Off season part 1 thread)
Mock drafts have him all over the first round, he's a good player. I'm guessing he goes before we pick though, not that the skins are even targetting him.
